Trying to view cctv system on mobile phone

Recommended Posts

Hi

I can view my cameras online, but I haven't been able to view them on my phone.

My DVR is 16CH H.264 DVR. This is the correct manual http://www.cpcamglobal.com/support/manual/CPD551A_556_558.pdf

My router is a Netgear WNDR3300. My internet provider is Virgin media, they use a dynamic Ip address. They don't support DDNS so their router is set to modem mode and connected to my netgear.

I've set the DVR to DHCP because of my dynamic IP.

I've done port forwarding in the router (port 80)

I can view my cameras in internet explorer over the local network 192.168.1.5 I can view my cameras by typing my current ip address 94.174.42.244 I think I have set up the DDNS, If I type in http://thefuture.is-a-green.com I also go to my log in screen.

I've downloaded the app IP Cam View and I've tried one or two others, now I get really confused.

The url I put in for the cctv app must be http://thefuture.is-a-green.com correct? Port number must be 80

User and password.

I assume it must be a username and password on the DVR?

Ive got an admin password that I only need to put in once after the DVR is reset. I've got an option for an operator password, that is not set. I've got a Host ID number, I've got a Remote control ID number

I've got 4 cameras on my system, I can't view anything.

I've been trying to work this out for 2 days now, any help would be appriciated.

Thanks

Your dvr should not be set to dhcp. Set it as static or at least reserve dhcp then go the the status tab of your router and check what it says for WAN IP. If the address is in your lan then the issue may be your modem is still acquiring the external ip address and assigning your router an address from its dhcp range.
