Problem with connecting to DVR via Media Port

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am new here. I hope I can get some information and maybe solution about my DVR setup for my office.

First of all, here's brief information about the setup :

1) I have around 11 branch, all of them using same DVR (Chinese DVR, the brand is "Haven" I think)

2) I have properly setup the network configuration within their own local network and I can access it well

3) I already setup port forwarding on router (Some using Mikrotik and some using TP-Link ADSL modem with NAT-capability)

4) For each branch, I already setup a public domain and DDNS so I could access them each time their IP changed

Here comes the problem :

1) Since all of them came from same brand, they used same DVR-CMS software. The problem occur when I tried to connect to some DVR using their mediaport via DVR-CMS (e.g: http://something.mydomain.com:49999) and it said "Registration failed"

Note 1: It only occur to some DVR, some other DVR within another branch work correctly

Note 2: It only happened when I try to connect via Media port. I connect to Mobile port (lets say the port is 6900) via Android phone/tablet using MEye program and it connected

2) I try to examine further by connecting via web port (e.g: http://something.mydomain.com:8000). It can connect and display login box. But when I try to connect via that login box (using media port or 49999), it stated "Network Error"

Note 1: When I try to login via web port from LAN (e.g: http://192.168.1.1:8000), it shows login box and I can connect (via media port or 49999)

So to sum it up,

Same DVR, same software, some can connect via media port, some can't. Mobile port working correctly

Any info on this?

Sorry for my bad English

Additional note :

For DVR's I can't connect, I tried to telnet them, and I got proper response (screen with KTSY message)

So I think the problem lies in DVR-CMS software, but as many other Chinese app/hardware, this thing lack of documentation

No reply? Helppp

Okay, further information, here's the setup (attachment image) for 2 of our branches. One branch I can connect successfully using DVR-CMS but the other one failed.

Lets say I have branch A which succeed and branch B which failed.

On branch A :

DVR setup -> media port : 40001, mobile port : 6600, remote port : 7700, web port: 8000

On branch B : (my initial setup)

DVR setup -> media port : 43221, mobile port : 6600, remote port : 7700, web port: 8000

Both branch using same ISP. Mobile port connected successfully (tried using Meye app on android). Web port both connected successfully.

However media port via DVR-CMS still failed.

At first I thought it might be port problem within my ISP. I try to change port on branch B to different port (I even tried port 40001) but still no result.

In next branch visit occassion, I think I will try to change the setup a little bit. Maybe connecting DVR directly to Mikrotik on different subnet will work. No clue yet though.
