Looking for some help picking out a PTZ Camera

Recommended Posts

I know PTZ Cameras are expensive. I've seen them go as little as $500 and over $1000. I've seen some on Ebay though go for $200 or so, but I don't know how good they are.

I could use some help from the experts here that have much better knowledge. I've found a few on Ebay I'm looking at, and if you guys want to browse Ebay to check out the others and list more that you like as much, if not better than the ones I've listed, then by all means please do so.

But first, let me link you my equipment.

My DVR: http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/16chpsefud1d.html

My Power Supply: http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/18ca12vdvmuo.html

Now here are a few of the PTZ Cameras I found on Ebay. I could use some help picking out one. I need to know if it will even fit my power supply and DVR, as well as if it's worth it based on quality and how far it will zoom.

Here are a few I'm looking at currently on Ebay.

I was thinking of buying #2, but waiting to hear from the much smarter people here. Really don't want to spend more than $300 if I can help it.

Here is what I'm needing out of one. One that will zoom at least to the end of the next block and has auto focus. I am hoping it will be able to read license plates at the end of the block and hopefully recognize faces. Any other features like preset monitoring areas is a plus. Also need it seeing at night too. The other cameras I use with my DVR come with 43 Infrared LEDs, so hoping this PTZ Camera comes with night vision too. The one I was looking at says 0 lux(IR on), which totally confuses me. Not sure if it sees at night or not then.

Also, this whole RS485 thing is new to me and I know my DVR allows it, so I don't know what type of cord I need to make this PTZ camera work. A 50ft or 100ft is fine. I was looking them up and saw this one so let me know if it works please. http://www.ebay.com/itm/100Ft-PTZ-Power-Video-RS-485-Control-Cable-for-Q-see-Zmodo-Swann-PTZ-Cameras-/321061708311?pt=US_Surveillance_Cables_Adapters_Connectors&hash=item4ac0c4e217
