One NVR & two IP networks

Recommended Posts

I have several Dahua DVR's configured to use 192.168.100.0 subnet

something like this:

DVR1 192.168.100.101

DVR2 192.168.100.102

DVR3 192.168.100.103

DVR4 192.168.100.104

I now need to add an Dahua NVR

I dont want the IP camera's to be on the same subnet (not enough IP's available), I would rather have them use 192.168.101.0 subnet.

There is only 1 network card in the NVR so I am guessing I need to configure that as 192.168.100.105.

Do I need a router between the Camera's Switch and NVR? then create a VLAN perhaps?

What is a recommended network configuration for something like this? it must be a common issue.

Thanks!

Hi,

You need a router between IP camera's switch and NVR.

But I don't think you need to configure VLAN for it.

Just extra router should be okay.

Cheers,

Hello

Each IP Camera had a serperate IP Address.

You just set the WIFI Settings, and then the software would be searched out the IP Cam.

If you wanna IP Camera connected the 2IP Cameras, then you can add it to the NVR's sub IP.

Hi,

You need a router with the subnet mask set properly:

NVRs: 192.168.100.0

Cams: 192.168.101.0

Subnet mask like 255.255.254.0 should do the trick

I hope I could help , if not feel free to contact me any time for more info
