is it the right time to start use ip camp from ebay/dhgate?

hello i want to improve my security camera

right now still using cheap cctv camera

got recording quality problem and environment not support cctv recording like this pic

 

right now i could buy ipcamp from

- local store

- dhgate

- ebay

 

the problem with local store, they still not providing cheap ipcam

so i need to choose to buy from ebay or dhgate

 

is there any reliable ip cam price around 100$

supported by cheap software and using computer as nvr?

 

maybe anyone could share some experience and information here

Anyone know what ip cam i should pick?

For example

I could use iphone, ipad, or computer to monitoring the ipcamp

And use the computer as nvr subtitue

I don't know dhgate, but aliexpress is popular for people who want to save money, at some risk of costing extra if a camera needs to be sent back.

 

The Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I is a popular camera to start with, and can be had for under $100 on sites like this (from another post; I haven't bought anything from them):

Yeah, but all of the cams from there came safely

Still cheaper than buying it at local store

 

Maybe i will try aliexpress later

 

Here the plans

Cams: hikvission (i will try maybe 4 type later)

Network : POE switch, with current wifi router, it it enough? Or i need to use adaptor? For LAN cable length about 100 feet?

Monitoring :

Computer with ivms pc for recording

Iphone and ipad with ivms

 

What about the playback recording?

Can i playback the recording from iphone or ipad? Or other place using pc? While using pc as video recording?

A POE switch with 4 powered ports should be fine. Many only supply half-power average over all ports, and that works fine on many cams, but you want to verify the switch's total power, just so you know.

 

I've never used the ivms app, but others here have.
