Load on CPU with milestone and 1 hikvision camera

Recommended Posts

just took note of the load on my CPU I5-4670K, 8GB ram, .. 64bit , windows 8,

on high performance I was getting 30%,

so I switched it to Power saver mode, and im getting 7%

is this not still a lot, for milestone and 1 cam, just the server and mobile server running,

I have a few items in the notification bar, Samsung magician , intel graphics, realtech sound etc. .

milestone server control is whats eating it up according to task mgr.

Select the sub stream for live viewing, it will make the mobile client faster and use less CPU. I have 10 cameras (8 are 3MP, 2 are 1.3MP) on an i5 that's half the speed of yours and those are the CPU numbers I get. It will still use the main stream at 3MP to record and playback.

I done a test, as I can get sub stream working,

I stopped the mobile server, and then actually exited it from the notification area,

CPU still at 7%

I'm still a little suspect of the set up given those two niggles
