New Office CCTV

Recommended Posts

Good Morning Guys,

Looking for some clear advice, as i am very new to all this.

I have previously set up a 4 channel CCTV system using a sannce system we bought of amazon. This all works fine over IP.

What i now want is a system for our front door. I want to have an external camera, does not matter what kind, i just want a clear image, 1080/720....

i want to stream this direct to a monitor upstairs in our office.

how i have thought of this so far is by using one of these http://www.cameras-cctv.com/HD-SDI-Domes/Vandalproof-IP66-IR-Dome-Camera-HD-SDI-Analog-RF3019

and then connect this to a DVR, would this be using a BNC Connector is my question? are all coax connectors to dvr BNC?

after this I plan to run a VGA to CAt 5 connector from the DVR, through our trunking and then again Cat 5 to VGA then into the monitor?

any problems with this system?

You would need an SDI dvr for it to work...
