ltco455/21 Bosch cameras

Recommended Posts

Hello.folks yes another newbie with stupid question. I do have a small amount of a tech background with a/v but with all the new cheap products I haven't a clue where to start.

My skills are limited and I feel I could do better buying name brand used equipment. I'm looking at some Bosch lt Co 455/21 color cameras because they s3ll cheap (used) and have great reviews I can buy 8 for 50 to 60 bucks.

My mother is late in her years and she gets up and down slowly. I would like to put together a system that will keep a eye on her property and let her see outside with the remote on her tv. Your opinions on the cameras and what else I would need would be helpful. Like what multiplexer and or dvr suggestions and I'd

if i could look in on her with this equipment thanx joe

Those cameras require external enclosures and dont have night vision and are huge and nasty looking for a home setup.

what is your budget? how many cameras? There are much better cameras out, that are easier to install using POE...

Thanks for the speedy reply. As far as a budget....well I just spent over 7 grand installing a new oven and dish washer in my mother's home. Sounds like a lot for just labor to install 2 new appliances? Well the installs turned into me racing cabniets building new Drawers and doors installing granite counters a new pergomax hardwood floor in 2 rooms and..... and tile in the kitchen on the back splash and now the 2 bath floors as well. So I'm. Broke. But it's mothers day and she is smiling like a kid in a cake shop.

I just know a 1 or 2 hundred dollarssystem will look like a 50 yr old tv with a bad tube. The enclosure I could build from lexan I belive it's the electronics I'm not up on. The Bosch has a low lux number but no ir I guess? I think I can get more used for my money if I piece together a system but I don't wanna buy stuff that will not work together

If you are broke buy one or two ip cameras and record to sd card..Search google for this model Hikvision DS-2CD2120F-IW

You will find it for 129 from a US seller with warranty...otherwise you can get them from aliexpress for about 90-100 with no warranty and possible firmware issues...it will be night and day compared to that old bosch...add more cameras and an nvr later...you can use an amazon fire tv or any android box to view on the tv...you are looking at old school analog cameras...dont waste your time and money...

lenses will cost you money, then you need enclosure, they look like crap in a home setup...another option is to do a hd over analog using something like dahua CVI..lots of theads on this...costco often has sales on these systems for 400-500...will be way better than the analog camera you originally posted and has everything you need..I personally still prefer ip..but this 400 dollar sytem is a good option.

Week I bought a system Q-See QR414 / 320GB DVR w/ QSM1424C4 CMOS Camera 4-Pack ~ QSM1424C

It's a used system I paid 65.00 for it I want to think all of u for the help. My goal was to get out cheaply I hope it still ends that way. I also found a honeywell system it's older but complete from a casino. I may look at it for another project of mine it's a hdre 4x4 made by honeywell I know it's old but honeywell name has always been good right
