Connecting ZOSI system to TV and WiFi

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I just bough this ZOSI system for my home:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MN5B478?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

I have a couple of questions about it if anyone can help.

1. I am trying to run a cable from the video out through the existing cable in my home to a TV in my bedroom. The cable is RG6 I believe and I have tried placing a BNC connector on one end to plug in to the ZOSI unit and then connecting straight into the TV tuner cable spot on the TV (RF connector maybe?) That didn't work and I read that the signal was not the right type so I cut off the RF connector and placed an AV connector on the end of the cable and plugged that into the video port in one of the component spots on the back of the TV. I could not get that to work either (no signal). I thought maybe I didn't put the BNC connector on right so I plugged the bare cable into the ZOSI box but that didn't work either.

If its not obvious by now:

The box works fine by HDMI but I don't want to have to run an HDMI cable all the way through the walls to reach the TV as the coaxial cable is already installed. Any ideas on how to fix this? Should it work if I have the connectors installed properly?

2. If anyone is familiar with the ZOSI system: When I search for Wifi networks, nothing happens and I can't connect to any wifi. Any fix for this? If not is there a way to upload a third party firmware or software to the ZOSI box that works better?

Thank you so much for the help!!!

1 - It should work if the cable is done properly, and is conencted to the right TV input.

2 - Your DVR does not have wifi, you will need a network cable from the DVR to your network (or an external access point).

I guess that would explain why the Wifi doesn't work

I'm plugging the AV cable into the port labeled "video" in this picture.

Is that the correct place? and will it work even though the rest of the component cables don't exist?

Thanks so much for the help Securame!

That's the correct place, the yellow connector labeled VIDEO. And then on your TV you have to choose the input AV1. It will work without the white/red cables connected (those are for audio).

everything seems to be working well with my cameras now except for the mobile app. I have researched and found that the latest update of the secu365 app has caused problems. Is there a third party app for iphone that can view my cameras that are connected to the internet?
