Swann SWNHD-825CAM standalone Recording configuration

I am trying to configure Swann SWNHD-825CAM cameras as standalone devices using the internal DVR software. I have been very impressed with the capabilities of the cameras and the features that are included in the internal software, however I cannot get the cameras to record. I have motion detect set and it is detecting. I have the scheduling set for 24/7. I have motion detection turned on and every check box I can find, yet the cameras are not recording. I am storing the images to an external NAS device that is attached to my router. The cameras formatted the NAS drive and created the necessary subdirectories. No errors or issues with the drive are apparent. I understand these cameras are the same as the Hikvision DS-2CD2032-I so anyone with knowledge on that particular camera might be able to help.
