Dome IP camera with NVR

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Hoping someone can give me some help with choosing a system.

Budget is $1k, and buying at Costco.ca, and must have a dome style camera. I've narrowed it down to these 3.

Realistically, I want an 8ch NVR with just one dome camera for starting, but I can't seem to find it in Canada with a good price. Decided to go with Costco.

Are there any differences between the 3 I've chosen?

Thank you!

I purchased the Swann unit you posted, and I couldn't be happier with it, for what I paid.

The clarity of the cams is great, with excellent NV. The only issue I have (and it may well be just me) - is connecting it securely through their web apps - though that isn't very important for my situation.

The Swann's are remarked Hikvision - although I gather they have different firmware.

After 6 months of use I would grade this system very high for a price/value package. By far, the most difficult part is the cabelling back to the NVR. Setup and tweaking was quite easy - and there is tons of help for specific questions on this forum and others - without having to call Swann for service.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I decided to lower by bill and go with this one instead,

I figured I'll just get a dome camera on its own, and couldn't justify a $400 jump just for the camera I wanted.

I just put it up today, and works wonderfully. Very clear, and I've set it up to the TV for live view.

You're right, it took me almost the whole day to run one cable from porch to the basement, then basement to back up to TV. Glad I have an unfinished basement, else I would've just scraped this whole project.

Now I just have to read some stuff, like is it setup to automatically record whenever it's on, and the day/night camera setting.
