Night recordings at double speed??

Hi all,

 

I have a swann nvr8-7300 with 6 cameras and I've only just recently tried backing up footage for playing on my PC.

 

I've had alot of troubles with windows media player etc not wanting to play the .avi files on my computer. Strangely they play on my wife's computer through windows media player.

 

Anyway I have managed to find a player called VLC player that plays the avi files from my thumb drive. The day time videos play perfectly but the night time videos are playing at double speed - maybe even faster. This is very frustrating and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or similar and knows what the issue is???

 

And help would be greatly appreciated.
