Dahua FTP questions

Hello,

Will I be able to get a Dahua NVR to upload video to a local FTP server that was recorded when the NVR and server weren’t connected?

The situation is a ferry operates 10hrs a day and docks at the same location every night. We are planning on installing a router connected to the NVR on the ferry and then have a FTP server with hard drives on the dock. If when the ferry docks every night the FTP server automatically connects to the same router will the NVR transfer all the files recorded for that day? Or will it only upload files that are recorded when an NVR and FTP server have a connection? It will essentially be a remote backup of the boats cctv if an incident was to ever occur. We want it to all be transferred over a local network so to reduce costs.

Hopefully someone has some experience with something but I understand that this is a fairly unique situation.
