NVR ports

Hello guys, I'm new here so don't hate me right away. Well, I have a problem, I own a Chinese NVR N6804HE-POE fitted with this NBD8004R-PL(EP) board, which only has 4 camera ports. Somewhere I found information that it is possible to expand these ports to 8 pieces relatively easily. So I ordered an expansion board for 8 ports, shuffled the boards and after a long time found a firmware that is somehow stable (until I connect the cameras) then it all crashes... so now I'm asking, is it possible to start it somehow? reduce the quality, codec, adjust the power supply, anything that can be done if something can be done about it? Thanks
