Control Port (8pin mini DIN) on camera - How does it work?

Hallo,

i'll get a 'TOPICA TP-2000DS' camera with 8pin mini DIN control port. I'm wondering how it is meant to be done controlling the camera with that port. I also want to use the S-Video signal (Y/C) with short cable lengths (<10m).

 

I didn't find any information about that 'control port'. So, either it is proprietary or that trivial it is not even mentioned anywhere.

The only informations i found are in the pic below (taken from manual).

 

I could assemble a custom Y/C cable (8pin->4pin s-video) myself but would prefer to get a retail one with additional RS232 (if available). Depends on the 'RS232' functionality i would gain.

 

The camera has OSD (on-screen display) and 'auto iris' capabilites. My guess is, one can control 'zoom' and maybe even the complete menus with OSD by remote. I don't know...

 

So, does anyone have some informations about that control port and how it is meant to be connected (to the pc) and what software is needed?

Are there any retail cables available with s-video and RS232 for that port?
