Viewing LAN camera image w/Netpromax 240

Recommended Posts

I am not able to see image on LAN connection using FXClient when connection is confirmed via Netstat. Everything seems fine and logon is sucessful but in steup/Camera all I see is a blue screen on each camera view. I have no firewall activated on either system and everything tells me all is working as desired I an unable to get this to work for me.

Has anyone had this problem and knows what could be wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Is the video ok on the DVR side?

If so, perhaps your video card on the remote PC client side might not support it. See if there is a setting on FXClient to turn off Direct Draw Overlay and if so see if that helps. Also have you tried it from a different remote Computer yet? Might be a codec issue also.

Otherwise, its been a while since i used one of them but had no issues.

I have the same condition when I run FXClient on laptop. Everything works fine on the PC where the cameras are attached. I do not see any option to turn off Direct Draw within FXClient. The video cards are all ATI. The one on the remote desktop is Radeon X850XT and on the Laptop ATI Mobility Radeon9000/9100. There is an "overlay" selection that displays a warning "The overlay controls are automatically activated during playback of any video file type that supports overlay adjustments." This warning is present on both desktop and laptop. If this is a Direct Draw issue then would I need to disable it some how with the PC?

Thanks for your help.

Not sure, are they both running XP, or Vista?

Also, the ATI cards sound okay, perhaps its a codec issue.

FX client requires 1024x768 32 bit resolution on XP/2000.

There is unknown compatibility with Vista. On some versions of Vista it works fine, but not on all. We are currently working on fix.

Yes, it does use overlay / directDraw, but even without it, it should show images (A little degraded) on remote client.

Check on the server if you enabled hiding cameras for specific user name.(Setup->Network->Edit on Remote Access users)

It should work.

If necessary, you might have to reset settings on client.

PM me for instruction on that.
