Hi res Camera?

Recommended Posts

Who makes one?

I notice with my Extreme Reg L1, during the day, it makes some

excellent pictures I cant get with my Samsung SDC-415 cam's.

I like the low lux settings on the Samsungs, but wondered about some higher res camera's.

As far as I can tell from the specs, at 530TVL and .0002 Lux, that is about as good as it gets in analog. You will have to go to an megapixel IP camera to get anything that is appreciably better.

600TVL 0.01 Lux BW Camera.

Though it is still the same Effective Pixels as the 480TVL color camera.

Dont pay attention to those 0.000000000000000000 ... etc specs, its all hype. If anything when they spec 0.001 Lux thats really 0.01, though ignore lux from manufacturers anyway as most the time it is not even close to being accurate, especially the OEM cameras, which many times have been translated too many times or over sold by hungry sales people with no experience in the industry.

Anyway to answer your question, not all cameras have the same features, you get what you pay for.

Is there a hi res camera that gives me the same resolution os the reg camera? (also with low light capability as the sdc-415).

I dont need infra red, as I have low level light for the area, so the BW

sens up on the Samsung camera works excellent.

Its a good camera, I'd just like better resolution.

Exview BW 570-600TVL, any brand. The lowest light you'll get without IR.

GE has a model. Even standard BW would blow that Samsung away at night.

What about the extreme fmx800?

I guess I should mention I'd still like to have color...

I'm just looking for a higher res picture than the day night cam I have now.

And that would perform as a day/night camera. I have enough light

in the area to not require IR assistance.

Bottom line, I'm totally happy with the Samsung SDC-415, I would just

like a more detailed picture, or at least see what the price point is, and then determine how much its worth to me...

I dont know as they are basically the same Effective Image pixels, however they are different cameras. They have different features. Also are you certain the Samsung is focused properly?

You are not going to get much better with an analog camera. Yes, B&W can have slightly better resolution than color, but not substantially better.

Again, digital IP Megapixel is the only way to get appreciably better PQ. Good Megapixel cameras typically start at around $700. The 3 Megapixel Arecont AV3100 lists for around $900. Others can exceed $1000.
