Need help to ID my DVR

Recommended Posts

I received this DVR and 7 working cameras for free. However, it doesn't have the remote or the manual, and it would be nice to have both. The only markings on the outside of the case is a sticker with the number ED2008V and a serial number. Had the case open once, but didn't write down any numbers off the board or hard drive. If anything inside can help ID it, let know what to look for and I will see what I can do. I have included a picture of the front of it....It is an 8 ch vid, 4 ch audio, internet access from lap/desktop only (No TCP/UDP options), has CD-RW drive slot but not installed, 500 GB HD. Does not support a mouse, USB is for updating firmware or to back up sections of video. (might help in dating it)......also in that regard, in the recording settings, it gives the option of recording in "Field or CIF"....with CIF being the lower quality/higher FPS setting. The system works fine, but in addition to wanting the remote and manual, I was also looking for firmware updates or possible upgrades that could be done. Like, I would like one PTZ camera out in front of the house, but nowhere to plug in control wires. ( Even though there is a button for PTZ control on the front).

Thanks for your help.

One more thing to possibly help you all date this DVR ( well two)....It only has one level of password, meaning, there are no "viewing only" passwords....pretty much all or nothing. If you have the password you can do pretty much whatever you want (other than stop record or enter settings), if you don't enter password at start up you cant do anything. And two, when viewing online, the tab label is "NetViewer WEB-PROGRAM" and the viewer program is "PC Viewer V1.0R".

I notice the label says NTSC.

We use the PAL system here in the UK but I believe the NTSC standard is used in the US only but may be in use elswhere.

Checked the link you provided....Couldn't find my model number listed and couldn't open some of the manuals cause I don't have MS Office on this computer. I have to check on another computer tomorrow and/or give them a call. I will update with my findings.

So, I called easterncctv today and they said they "probably" made it, but no longer support it. So basic its use it as is or upgrade to new model.

Anyways, thanks to everyone that help me out on this. " title="Applause" />
