CCTV wont record on one channel (dif make of cctv)

Evening all,

My mate has a shop with a option storage DVR 8 channel CCTV system.

We have always had problems as would never do a firmware update and also was unable to view from a iPhone or win7/XP machine at his house. I have emails over 6 months from their rubbish support and lack off.

Anyway,

we needed a new camera on the drive at back. Being it does`nt support HD (DVR), i got a 1200TVL Outdoor CCTV DVR of eBay ( yes another model to other cams) .

Connected the bnc and put on channel 5. set it up for h1 and then went into the setting and confirmed 1-8 are on for recording.

Image was on screen and my mate said a lot clearer.

Set up is the following:

1 and 2 are in shop covering door and 2 tables and the till

3 is outside the shop at front

4 is back door and sort of half the rear area

5 is now on wall and covers the car and door to rear garage. (new camera)

Now after 10 mins, we go into play back and we ask it to the a search for last 30 mins, strangely only 4 cameras seem to come up as recorded NOT 5.

tried on channel 1, 2, 3, 4, and same, its like it does like the camera to record?

any ideas?

Some system can only playback limited chs at the same time.

Did you try playing back ch 5 alone ?
