    Anyone using the Geo AS200?

We have not been able to see any video from the cameras unless we setup the Host on the LAN or through a VPN. Yesterday technical support forwarded the issue to engineering. I hope they will come up with a solution.
  2. Has anyone been able to view video using ASRemote software over the internet without using a VPN? We have only been able to get video if we use a VPN or if we run the program on the LAN. The other functions of ASRemote contect and work correctly. All the other Geovision programs for remote viewing of video work correctly.

    Anyone using the Geo AS200?

We have been using it for over a year. We really like the way it intergates with a Geovision NVR. We would prefer direct technical support by phone or email. They have established a way to comunicate via CHAT from there web site, but we have not been able to get a problem with the ASRemote software resolved.
  4. Tim, I will send you the distributor information by email. I would appreciate your assistance in determining when the the false alarm will be fixed. Stephen
  5. Tim, Thanks for supplying your contact information. 1) I agree with you that 5 months is too long to fix a bug. If I did not have someone living on the site I would have removed the AS200 and replaced it. We have been contacting Geovision about it through a distributor and have not received any information as to when this will me fixed. 2) The Geovision board in the AS200 was actually replaced several weeks before the lighting strike. It took over 5 days as the distributor was unable to have it drop shipped. It had to go to the distributor and then to us. In fact a replacemnt board had to be purchased and then wait several weeks for a refund after the bad board was returned. As a comparison after the lighting strike we were able to get two Doorking gate operator boards shipped to us the next day. These were not covered as warranty, the point is we were able to have our security system back up the next day.
  6. FYI Geovision is not responsive to problems with it's AS200. 1) BUGS ARE NOT FIXED QUICKLY. If you schedule a door/gate to be released for a period of time the system will send an alarm when it closes at the end of the time period. Geovision's response was that it would fix it in the next update, but we could just disable alarms until it was fixed. 5 months and still waiting. 2) NO FAST SUPPORT. A lightening strike knocked out the main board. No support to next day ship a replacement. It took 5 days.
  7. You might want to check out this software, they have a trail version that may help you sove the problem. http://www.232analyzer.com/RS232_Protocol_Analyzer_Monitor/RS232_Analyzer_Monitor_DOWNLOAD.HTM

    RS-485 to RS-422 converter

Thanks for the reply survtech. Do you think I can just use the two wire system to comunicate from the video server to the pelco ptz?
  10. Has anyone had success using a RS-485 to RS-422 converter to communicate from a video server that supports RS-485 to a PTZ camera with RS-422 protocol ? I have a Pelco Esprit ES31C22-2W which communicates with RS-422 for PTZ and camera control, my Geovision NVR supports RS-485. The camera is about 1400 ft from the NVR, and about 600 ft from a network connection. I am considering a Geovision video server and a RS-422 to RS-485 converter. Has anyone had success with this setup? Any suggestions for an solution would be appreciated

  12. Thanks for the suggestion. How is the Geovision software treating the opening of the gate/door? Are you able to tell which extension allowed access?
  13. Just trying to save some money, this solution may be temporary at my location. I have another post where I am looking for information on a telephone/intercom system that will work with the AS200. Thanks for the help.
  14. I am looking for options for outdoor card readers or keypads other than HID. Anyone had sucess with other brands?
