I'm using mine on local lan only so no security issues. With your other problem not quite sure what's happening make sure you have the camera plugged into the correct port as in its not in port 10 and your looking for it in camera position 3. Easy way to check this is use the 16 channel display in the main screen. By the way toy can just disable the beeping by going to tools -> video signal diagnostics -> disable video lost beep. Might also be an idea to download the nearest software 8.5.9 from geovision.com.tw. Good luck Mike

Hi, I know this is digging up an old post but has anyone got a work around for this issue. I'm trying to integrate my Geovision 8.5.9 DVR to my home automation system, works perfectly when i use the Jpeg URL as above (http:// [GV IP]: [http port]/[GUID]/cam1.jpg but after a certain period of time, few hours this url timesout which is not workable. Is there any other way to get access to snapshots/jpgs on the GV server software, using GV mobile servers doesn't seem to work as it produces a Mjpeg stream.
