Thinking of buying a shuttle case for my NV5000 to have a dedicated system. Anyone else used them? Does the card fit in ok? Are there any issues with cooling etc? I read another post about cooling being a problem, but it was suggesting people were putting the case in a cubboard or something similar. Are there any known issues with any of the hardware specific to shuttle systems? Also as the expansion slot will be taken up with the NV5000, is there likely to be any issue with using the onboard graphics. Just looking for some opinions and recommendations. Regards C

Hey all, Just wondering how people deal with the heat from some of the small pinhole camera, which seem to get very hot. If the camera is supposed to be covert, then placing in an item that could be expected to get hot is fine. But what if the item shouldn't get hot. How do you deal with the heat build up? Any suggestions? Thanks C

I have 4 analogue (pal) Cam setup, I like to record in 25fps on each cam and at 720x480 Although I appreciate this isn’t what it is intended to do. Just trying to work out what sort of processor I need to be able handle this? I’ve looked at the avermedia recommended hardware list but its so old and out of date. Any help would be greatly appreciated. C

Hi all, I’ve got a NV5000, and intend on building a small unit just dedicated for my DVR card. What I would like to know though, is if the DVR software and card can make use of mutiple CPU cores? Can it multi thread using the lastest software? Basically I want to know if I'm best off buying the fastest single core processor for the job or a slower clock speed multi core CPU. Advice? Hi All, When exporting with qplayer to mpg, it doesn't include audio. Is there something I'm missing here? or is that just the way it is? When exporting with qplayer to avi, it does include audio, but the playback speed of the image is increased somewhat and looses sync with the audio and leave a period of 1 still frame at the end of the video while the audio carries on to the end. Is there anyway to fix this? Regards C

Hi all, Hoping to draw on the collective knowledge. I’ve had a NV5000 for a couple of years now. 4 analogue (pal) Cam setup, however my computer that I was running it on has died pretty badly now. So I’m looking to build a new system to have 2 main functions. Act as a NAS device and a DVR. I like to record in 25fps on each cam and at 720x480 Although I appreciate this isn’t what it is intended to do. From reading many posts on here, am I correct in believing the card isn’t capable of maintaining a full 25fps for each of the 4 cams at this resolution? Or is it due to the system specs? On my old system, the fps were definitely not 25fps. But I wasn’t sure if this was due to a lack of raw CPU power. I’m looking for some guidance in terms of a recommendation for hardware specs. What sort of processor/motherboard should I be looking at that can handle this? I’ve looked at the avermedia recommended hardware list but its so old and out of date. Basically I’m building this system, from scratch. I intend to have one hard drive as my C drive, a second very large drive for my DVR recordings and a third large drive for my NAS (mainly media files). Any help would be greatly appreciated. C
