  1. my steelers gave me 3 heartattacks last week with indy but i think they can squeek out a win in denver

carolina is on a roll and they made chicago's d look like crap so i think they will take care of seattle

  2. 25-30ft ceilings - its a harley davidson dealership looking to cover the floor, doors, registers, etc.

the florescent lights hang about 4-5ft from the ceiling -- i was going to just mount fixed cameras to the beams and have them zoomed down onto the areas but the client wants the big smoked dome housings hanging all around to deter theft and also wants the lcd/monitor as you walk into the store that says "welcome i am taping you sign"

this is my first stab at retail so i could use any and all suggestions - first off who makes these domes and do i just mount then to conduit hung from the beams, etc.. does anyone make an lcd/camera welcome sign thingie

    thx

  3. i just designed a system where i am usiing multimode fiber to transmit video to the 2 monitor rooms (in 2 different buildings) and to the dvr for storage. - coax to the analog cams then a fiber converter to cary the video (and the data for my ptzs) i am using american fibertek's products and have tested them in a pilot prior to the final design.

    http://www.americanfibertek.com/index.html

    i am using an 8 channel fiber xmtr/rcvr for my fixed cams - (1) MRT-880C/(1) MRR-880C

and for my ptzs to trasmit data/video - MTM-1600/MRM-1600

    and for a few single cameras - fiber transmiter/receiver - VK-M100

fiber products are not cheap but at this point i feel they are more reliable and less cost in maintenance than setting up a dedicated network for network cameras which most network cam mfgs would recommend and so would your IT dept.

also all of my cameras for this installation are outdoor in harsh conditions. does my customer want to replace a $300 fixed cam every few years when it craps out or a $1,000 network cam every few years? feel free to pm me with any questions or design help

p.s. whats with the advertisement from cctv pal? rory you sleeping on the job, thought you would have deleted this blatent product ad by now?

  4. i havent tested or used any of these cameras yet but think i might have a few applications to try them soon... i have 2 hotels where the front door needs to be covered and the outside ligtening will change with the time of day but the indoor lightening will be the same... the camera will be pointed at the door from inside looking out.. is this what this camera is made for?

ganz wdr box camera recommendation or should i go pano?

    thx

  5. i have a custom build gui on a chance i hardware compression board - i set it at 704x480 for 16 cams on a 480 frame card which avg 7.5fps/channel.. on the lower res u can get 30fps but i think for hotels/hospitals the high res and lower fps is good.. this system is 90% of my sales.. stable as hell and the easiest gui i have ever used
