could have blew the fuses at the powersupply if they come back to a central supply or check ur coax connectors

we have most of them set at 800x600 for 12fps pal which is pretty good, it does lower with the amount of activity... if you want to go full 3mp you will get a lower frame rate but thats with most -- h.264 is helping cameras compress video but mobotix hasnt gone there yet

im not a speco fan but i did take 2 for a restaurant bar at a hotel client of mine to test and the one thats a wide view is fine but the one tight on the bar and the bartender/register with lower light has some of the frame in focus but any movement of any person and their face is washed out - i have the dvr recording at 704x480 and 7.5fps... will probably switch it out with a bw dome for clarity.. i did mess with turning off intensifier, and a few other options but no dice

u can get away with it for shorter runs but i never skimp on cable because if it fails you'll eat up a ton of service time troubleshooting, copper prices have come down a lot so it shouldnt be that more to get good quality cable

we just installed 11 mobotix cameras here in chicago, the client was very impressed with the picture quality.. also no licensing fee for their software and no need for outdoor housings - install was easy becuse all of their models are poe so we just setup a 24port adtran poe switch and a 4terabite nas to record - we are getting about 4 weeks storage

trailer is plugged into the main building i believe - 90% sure on this one
with the quad plugged in with no monitor no noise going back to the dvr, with a monitor noise unless its a crt then fine
i think i plugged a cam in to the monitor and i had noise but id have to recheck this
-
i am looping out of the quad and back to the dvr
i did switch to hiz with no change
coax is good west penn wire
-
it is flipping thru the pic when the lcd is attached - i had an lcd that had the bnc input that i used first then i went with a bnc to vga converter to a reg 15"lcd monitor, total crap device and that gave me the same problem but with that little 12in tv using the composite in all is good
there is nothing on the picture with the tube tv connected with the mux so i dont think its a ground loop issue but...

4 outdoor cameras on coax to a quad in a trailer in a scrap yard, out of the quad and back to the dvr in the building office next door (power to the cams are homerun back to this office direct into an altronix 24vac supply) - total run not over 250ft. when i connect an lcd to the quad for the monitor in the trailer it puts power (i didnt put my meter on the coax to check last time) or something onto the line where you see a horizontal line flipping through the picture like it would look if there were power on on the coax. now when i put a tube tv or monitor off the quad there is nothing and all is good - how to get around this, they want an lcd for viewing there?
thanks,
pg

you wont be disappointed with the 484 its a very good camera, just make sure to get a good lens 2 - computar, tamron, fujinon, etc
-
take a look at mobotix for the camera but the cell connection will be your biggest obstacle

exaqt technologies says they have an application for iphone -http://www.flickr.com/photos/exacq/2360437927/in/photostream/

ive used vsi-pro text overlay boxes - they are solid and priced well..i go through northern video for mine
-
coax - but go with good wire - those runs are pretty short
-
in my limited experience with speco the dvr is not good in video quality/frame rate or reliability but a 1200 price point is hard to find any dvr that will fair well
-
from what i saw at the iscwest show avigilon mexapixel cams would be a good solution but you will need to dump the pelco dvr and go with avigilons nvr and run new cat5e to each camera - wont be cheap...
-
try recalibrating the keyboard, how are the ptzs wired? homerun or daisychained?
-
does it have a port in the middle of the housing? i see the 2 on the back and the mount looks like it could feed wires through
thx

check out ioimage

heater/blower box camera housing that uses the mounting arm to feed the wires into the camera so that nothing is visible... i use sti but they dont have one like this, maybe emi but didnt see one? any suggestions??
-
that ebay one is crap.. if you are going to get something cheap at least get it from a brand name you have heard of before...the ir illumator will have to be mounted outside as well so your better off just putting up a normal light.. for a ptz with ir that is ip you are well into the $2k range
very high quality image camera
