    Switcher

I need to find a switcher that I can control with relay outputs from my dvr's. I only have space for one alarm monitor and I need the alarms from two of our Kalatel DVMRE16ct's to be able to be viewed. Any help finding a switcher would be appreciated.

How to get it there ptz

I have these cameras already, not buying them. Besides, what is the point of upgrading to I.P. and I would have to set a nvr, etc to receive the ip stuff, and all of the wire on my campus is in good shape. I understand I.P. is the future but you don't just throw the past away if the past works.
  4. I currently have about 20 autodomes on campus, and control them both wireless and wired. During the wonderful times in the economy we are not spending much money. I need to transmit bi-phase about 3000 ft to an adjacent empty wharehouse we own. I plan to shoot the video wireless as I have two transmitters from another old job. I have thought about converting to 232 then transmitting wireless to the autodome but the converter is about 700 bucks. Can I get a line from the phone company to transmit biphase? How far can biphase go? Trenching etc is out of the question as city streets have to be crossed. Anyone know a good "Economical" wireless tx/rx for biphase. This install may be temporary, just another reason to not spend the money.

    Video Wall Help

Most of my images are sequencing, however there are certain cameras that the officers like to watch all of the time, and they will leave cameras locked on to one picture. Why the comment "Never set up a video wall"?

    Video Wall Help

I am intrested in designing a wall of video monitors. Let me first tell you about the beast that I am trying to get rid of. I have approximatley 18 17" monitors displaying 200 or so cameras coming from multiplexers and computers, all housed in a winsted Monster console. Unfortunatley my employer is willing to spend on equipment but space is limited. I have looked into some flat screen monitor "walls" where all of your video, computer, etc. plug into a computer or two and the output or outputs are displayed on the "wall". I have some flat screen I beleive TFT and they frankly look like crap compared to analog cctv monitor. Would lcd/plasma do better? I am looking for something similar to what you would see in a traffic center, nasa, vegas etc. Big wall of video. Can anyone suggest vendors in the U.S. East coast? Can anyone suggest good quality monitors (flat screen thin etc.) Can anyone suggest tips or ideas in general? Thanks in advance

    Kalatel DVMRE Master Time?

Thanks for the info. I have recently realized that only one of my six have version 5.?? the others are 4.11 and do not have the network time on the menu. Another question though. Could I hook up the 485 using the latest version as the master and let it serve the older units. Thanks.
  11. It's great to find a good cctv forum! I currently operate 6 qty kalatel dvmre16ct. I would like to sync the time from one to the other. Its not fun trying to remember that on one camera view is at one time and going to the other dvr you have to subtract or add time to find the incident again. I know in the menu there is a master/slave setting under time menu. I just curious if any one has this set up and what I need to do to accomplish this. I know there might be a few questions so I'll try to give a few answers now. All networked and individually ip adressed to use wave reader software. No 485 communication yet (not quiet sure how to set up) Thanks in advance
