I noticed the end from my old mouse fits perfectly in the port. Would it work if I spliced or soldered the wires from to male end together and connected one end to the camera and the other to a pc?

I got this camera for free and I'm wondering what kind of cable it uses and what else I need to make it work. It seems to be in pretty good condition so I think it'll work. I've been having a hard time finding info on it and would really appreciate the help.
