    NV5000 Vertical hold ?

What version of software are you using? aver doesn't like to mention it, but the some of the nv software versions had that exact problem-- if i remember right, the systems that i saw it on had versions 5.1 and 5.7 software. if you upgrade to at least version 7.1, it should take care of the problem.

    Remote Viewing with Blackberry

I have not had too much success with some of the phones that I have tried, but here is a list from this site: http://support.apexcctv.com/Downloads.aspx

6480 EPX freezes Up on start up

It sounds like a dvr software error. I had this happen a couple of times, reinstalling the software usually takes care of it.

    Problems with NV5000 & NV6240

also, I would recomend installing a battery backup, and configuring the software for auto-reboot, auto record, and in the bios, to startup on ac restore. like was mentioned above, if the system is not secured(system password, and lock box), this would also be a good idea.

Anyone ever Sensor and relay on NV5k and 6480?

imo, a access control system would do a much better job than any camera system, but it is possible. I have specifically worked w/ the 5000 series cards, and there is a small amount of delay-- ie. you need to hold the button down for at least 1-2 sec. for the system to recognize the event and respond. depending on what the customer wants, I can deffinatly see where this could be an issue for turning on a light, or opening a door.

System won't boot with NV5000 card

you said that you only tried installing the software, so I think that it is a windows error, and that reinstalling windows with the cards installed (so that windows thinks the cards have always been there) in the system will correct the issue.
  8. No, you don't have to press the record button. Go into Setup. Select "System Setup", and turn on "Auto record when login". Then go to "Schedule" and select the days you want to record. I just hit the "All" button. Now go to "Recording" and turn on the type of recording you want for each individual camera. the schedule recording feature is used for mandatory constant recording during certain times. if you would like the system to record only on motion, I would recommend that you set the system to record on motion(to save on disc space), and in the recording setup, and enable record when system start in the system configuartion. if you do not want the systme to record all the time, do not select any of the days/times in the schedule portion.
