Dahua IPC-HFW4300S - New 3mp Bullet
misha replied to Brenning's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
luckyfella we have experience with 5832, i think it has same performance as 5808, some of recent installation was 20 pieces of their cameras at 2048X1536, 4Mbps limited bandwidth and 15 fps each. It didn't handle the load. We were recommended to apply latest firmware but had not time for it yet. Customer dropped frames to 6fps@4Mbps and it is ok -

New Mobotix M15
misha replied to elefantrider's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello Did anyone have a touch with M15? According its manual it looks like it has 5mega sensor but picture resolution is only 3M, for D case it is 6 Mega and frame rate is only 8fps Besides it has 2,5" sensor, for me its seems like Aptina one and it doesn't look great on other products i've seen with it -

REVIEW: Exacq Start NVR Software
misha replied to buellwinkle's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
[The MAC address is easy enough to change in Windows through the registry] exacq is a bit more clever and addresses the NIC hardware for mac One good point about it is that camera is not embedded by its mac, but bad is that in case you remove camera from the system settings - you loose all recording -
Exacq loosing connection to camera
misha replied to misha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
yesterday it happened again, and restarting PC only didn't help, camera went on-line only after powering it off and back on (rebooting ups), I came to conclusion that it is camera fault, not vms related as other cameras at the site didn't behave like this, besides i'm running same camera, same firmware with exacq on same configuration pc in several other location and such thing didn't happen until now, besides my colleague told me he had such issue with AV3115 on Nuuo too, camera just lost connection, could be accessed by ie but wasn't able to communicate with VMS until power cycled. I don't think it could be any other component fault as switch port or power supplier, because camera is receiving dc together with IR illuminator but if it could be because of voltage drop or something it would happen in the evening when ir turns on and starts consuming power together with camera, but it happens during day time... -
Exacq loosing connection to camera
misha posted a topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello Maybe somebody has met similar problem and can advise anything except changing vms and camera there is exacq 4.8 software installed and connected to several AV3115 cameras, and exactly one camera periodically goes off-line and don't reconnect automatically, while it responds to ping and can be accessed from INTERNET explorer. It is regional installation (traveling there needs half a day), and cctv operator can only reboot PC, after which camera is reconnected again. I don't know if restarting exacq server service only help as operator can't do it himself, no IT stuff is available and remote assistance is not possible. Network is camera dedicated, based on cisco gigabit switch, bandwidth per camera is no more than 10Mbps, any other camera didn't drop connection until now, and this one periodically does - once per two/three weeks...cameras run latest firmware any ideas? I didn't write to exacq support as they'll be asking for remote assistance so first i try to post here, -

Exacq Software vs. Others

Thanks to AK's comment i started looking deeper into avigilon's software, besides it has important function for me of rate control on av cameras that exacq doesn't. -

Exacq Software vs. Others
misha replied to rkninc's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
privet ak357! My problem is that i need vms for AV cameras that we currently use most, avigilon is out of local public's acceptable price range we work with Sony and Panasonic and struggle selling their IP products because of prices so... I started playing around with exacq after 4.8 version came out indicating faster search as a novelty, i imagine what it was in previous versions...I see myself some explanation of search speed as seems it loads all the small 5min files around the drives, but why does it totally stuck the pc during this process and what is the reason for connection drops...? -
Exacq Software vs. Others
misha replied to rkninc's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hello I'm also a new user to exacqvision, i was searching for substitution to the vms system we were using as it had problems with high bandwidth applications, and stopped on exacq vision after reading positive comments in Internet; while playing with the software in the office it seemed very simple and cute, demanding low system resources but after installing it on some of customer's sites my opinion changed a bit(yet). There are strange periodic connection drops to cameras that didn't happen with same cameras on other vms, it is too simple and has very simple customization options, and what an awful thing the search engine is! Just as an example, we installed 5 X 3 megapixel cameras, with total bandwidth of ~4-5MBps, the PC is used as recording server and live viewwing also, it is i5-2500 based, windows 7 with separate 7200rpm drive for os and 4x2TB surveillance drives for storage, but after specifying to view several day recording software hangs and PC is just killed and don't respond to anything, even simple operation like show desktop or open my computer... -
Hello I'm wondering if anybody here is installing AV cameras so could share his experience regarding lenses being used; we use AV MPL series lenses with 3 mpx cameras and face a problem that camera focused during day always has night time focus shift (switched to b/w modes, lenses used are IR corrected), after focusing it by night, day image is mostly good but in some cases night focused camera (focused in b/w mode with active infrared) is out of focus at day. It is not a problem of single camera as we tried to substitute such devices with new one (both camera and lenses) but result is same... P.S. how do you think, will DC iris lenses used with AI version of camera bring any improvement?

Closing in, Need Recommendation - Arecont or Acti?
misha replied to Wildcat1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
What's so bad about Arecont? Our customer has recently chosen AV3125IR for large scale project after they did a test with 3 megapixel cameras from geovision, samsung, hikvision, and mobotix, they had Acti cameras (I think 0,3 or 1,3 mpx) recently and didn't want to hear about them anymore -
Has anyone used sony ip cameras for number plate recognition
misha replied to misha's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the camera is located at quite bad place (angle is more than 30 degrees, and camera is watching 2 lanes) but it is being compared to M12 dual sec that handles the objective very well both day and night. For day time, images from sony are awesome even at factory settings, but for the night time i wasn't able to get image even "near" to something like license plate, the only seen image is blurry light passing, besides camera is watching cars from back side so front lights doesn't cause any, played with settings a lot but didn't get any results... -
Geovision Bullet Vs. Arecont Bullet

NAS storage for IP Cameras
misha replied to Fusion79's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I think you need NAS based NVR, because neither arecont, nor sony or panasonic (sanyo) can write to NAS directly Try NUUO, the new NVRmini2 model, it is less expensive than QNAP 2004L -

New Axis super low light camera
misha replied to thewireguys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I also consider CH140 as one of strongest products , we are now challenging M12DualSec for license plate capturing project , day time performance was great with "factory default" settings for the place we located the camera, it was not a highway but some central street with cars passing with pretty high speed. I'm waiting for night time results...
