Get those IP Camera with SD Slots, use the SD Slots for recording. However, SD card size are limited. Most support up to 32GB , some up to 128GB. The camera will record by itself. To view, you'll still need your NVR or a mobile device or computer.

How to Remote Access NVR Without Router Port Forward
Daryl733 replied to videocheez's topic in Computers/Networking
HIKVISION NVR/DVR comes with a P2P inbuild function. EZVIZ they called it. You can use that. Alternatively, set up a VPN. Use the VPN to connect to the home network and view. It is way more secure than the EZVIZ imho. -
Help required to setup hikvision dvr to be viewed remotely
Daryl733 replied to PCdoc's topic in Computers/Networking
Check the DVR's UPNP NAT Assignment. Check if it's set to auto, it could auto assign another port instead of the port u set and use that auto assign port to update the HIKVISION device domain. Other than that, it could be your broadband service provider is routing all traffic through a proxy server, or using an invisible proxy. Or it could be there are assigning internal IP and using a main gateway out. Check the class of ip you are assigned. You could use http://checkip.dyndns.com and http://checkip.dyndns.com:8245 to check. They should show the same IP. If it doesn't, that means your service provider route http traffic through a proxy. If both shows the same IP and it's not a public ip, e.g. 192.168.XXX.XXX or 10.X.X.X or 172.16.X.X, then you can't use this internet connection for a server. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network In that case, use the HIKVISION P2P EZVIZ function. It'll bypass the private IP issues. I don't like it cause it's a security risk and also depends fully on manufacturer's server and speed might be affected. But it's a solution to bypass your internet connection limitation. -
can a router split an ip camera signal to two nvr's?
Daryl733 replied to an7h0ny's topic in Computers/Networking
A switch would do. You don't need a router. However you'll have to set both the NVR's internal ip different, and probably disable the dhcp function on one of them since you'll be connecting 2 dhcp server together and you don't want weird ip assignment happening. If you have free port on the NVR, you could also use a cross network cable to link one of the free port on both NVR together. It'll also bridge the network. I would suggest using a 4 wire cross network cable to prevent both the NVR's POE (if it's a POE NVR) from shorting each other out. Some of the NVR allows internal port forwarding. So u could also port forward the specific camera from NVR 1, and configure NVR 2 to use the stream from the WAN port from the NVR as well. It's IP network, there are tons of different methods to do, each with it's pro and cons. -
how to format the HDD in my DVR?
Daryl733 replied to hyperman88's topic in General Digital Discussion
If you are using standalone DVR, plug the hdd in, and go to the DVR's interface to format it. Most dvr will also prompt u to format/clean/initialize the new hdd when you turn it on with a new hdd. If you are using a PC based DVR, good luck. -
Dahua cameras on Hikvision NVR no Live View in browser
Daryl733 replied to YeahMon's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Is the stream encrypted from Dahua IP Camera ? My normal advice to customers is even though there are ONVIF compatible equipment, try to stick to same brand for IP Cameras and NVR. The onvif only support the very basic features of the cameras. There are normally tons of vendor specific features that are not available through the onvif interface. -
Try downloading the new version and try again ? http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Tools_84.html Are you on administrator account ?

Hi, Nothing much you can repair if it's faulty. Only thing u can do is change the power adapter, 19VDC ard 3A will do. If the light is flashing, most likely it's not the power supply problem. Some of AVTECH model can only output through 1 output at any time. e.g. VGA or BNC , and NOT both at the same time. You'll need to have your monitor connected prior to powering up the DVR so that it can detect which output. Sometimes they may have problem detecting which monitor is connected. Think you got to press the right or left button for either type of monitor output when you power up the DVR to force it to that mode. Consult your manual on that.

Hikvision DS-2CD3232-I5 english for chinese model
Daryl733 replied to izboril's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
HIKVISION have 2 product line. 1 meant for local use (China Market) and the other meant for export (oversea) The firmware used for these 2 line are mostly different. Some hardware are as well. Some china supplier sell the version meant for local use and hack firmware so that it display english and other international language. You'll know it if your device is "pre-activated" with a "default password" set by your supplier when they ship it to you. HIKVISION will not support all those device that were meant for china market but exported for oversea use. They are pretty hard on this. Can't even get a reset code generated from them if you misplace the password. You'll need to contact the company that sell you for support. -
Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I setup question
Daryl733 replied to glw1975's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Use the SADP Software to set it to a fix IP. e.g. 192.168.1.64 Configure your laptop to the same subnet with a different Ip addrss e.g. 192.168.1.100 (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/19249/how-to-assign-a-static-ip-address-in-xp-vista-or-windows-7/) Connect the Laptop to the IP Camera using a Cross network cable, or using a switch. You'll be able to type in 192.168.1.64 on your browser to view the camera But if you are using a switch, you might just want to use a router instead. Cheap router cost abt the same as switch. -
Are P2P camera safe?
Daryl733 replied to calida's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
I never like P2P interface, they are a security risk and also face problems down the road if the brand of equipment you bought are not from a more reputable/larger brand . What P2P camera does it they maintain a live outgoing connection to a server, most often the manufacturer's server. When your device attempt to connect to the camera, you are connecting to the server for the server to assist you to link up with your camera. Some just assist to connect and hands off. Most route all traffic through the server. In this case, all your traffic are going through that server. If the server is not located in your country, all your video are routed oversea and back again. If the server is slow, your streaming will be slow as well. This is not even considering the streaming that can be intercepted at the connection point. That being said, port forwarding have it's own set of issues for some system that are buggy and have exploits. Also, most of the system in the market transmit in the clear. Some have encryption feature in, but required more complication configuration which most people don't do that, including installers. Any routers in the mids can intercept the video/images by listening in to the stream and capturing them. Most secure way and easiest way to setup. 1. Set up your camera for local access. 2. Get a router that support VPN. 3. Setup VPN connection. 4. Connect through VPN to view your camera. -
Emailing HD images - is it so difficult?
Daryl733 replied to hyntleman's topic in General Digital Discussion
Do you need it to email you images on schedule or just on motion ? Most of the time motion is not that accurate for the cheaper range of cameras. It'll either over trigger or under. Especially when you are placing them behind a window that have reflection. Why not get a outdoor one and place it outside ? -
AVTECH 3g/gprs software not working
Daryl733 replied to vinniegraves's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Ah.. that's what you think. Avtech support sucks that is for sure... And Believe me I can think, for some people is that a problem Haa... check my previous post. I posted something, AVTech ppl come in reply to the thread promoting their product, then i posted a question to them on the same thread, they just magically disappear. no more reply. till now. So no point for us to help them promote their product by providing foc support for them. -
AVTech's Alternative Website ? Anyone got an alternative to the PDA/Handphone download website apart from AVTech's own http://211.22.74.18/ ? It had been down for the whole day, at least. Tried copying down the software the other time, but could host it on another site as it all link back to the http://211.22.74.18/ within the JAD website itself. Sucks big time. Couldn't commissioned a customer's system because of this.

AVTECH 3g/gprs software not working
Daryl733 replied to vinniegraves's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Ah.. that's what you think. -
I think you already answered your own question. IMHO, unless there's a big feature improvement or bug with the current firmware, don't try to mess with it.

Help Choosing DVR for a Mac Remote Viewing
Daryl733 replied to Dositmat's topic in Digital Video Recorders
You'll face some issues with Mac and AVC785. The new series of 760A, KPD608 has no prob with mac. The older (soon to be obsolate) AVC785 has some issues. Key thing. It'll not work with Mac/Safari. You'll have to use Mac/Firefox to get it to work. 760A/KPD-608 will just utilise Quicktime to play the streaming video on mac, so totally no prob. -

Help Choosing DVR for a Mac Remote Viewing
Daryl733 replied to Dositmat's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Surprisingly, But AVTech's AVC760 can do it. AVC760AS can do it better. Ops. You cre looking for 9 channels. There's no 9 channels. Either you go for 8 or 16. Their KPD-608 or KPD-616 or DG1648. -
No one has any idea ??
-
Just can't seems to find it anywahere. With a 500GB Harddisk, with different setting, how long can the new model of FULL MPEG4 AVC760AS record ? With all at best setting, what's the recording time ? With all at lowest setting, what's the recording time ?

The timer is not use to turn on/off the machine by time. It's use to for specifying the period to record. The machine has to be ON for it to function.

AVTECH 760 (model 3) DVI to VGA converter
Daryl733 replied to junglejim42's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Nope. Composite's Better. Most DVR comes with a native output, either VGA (for mostly PC Based) and Composite for the rest. If it support both, the other's basically through a convertor either external or internal card. The native output will give you a better quality output, the converted one will give you a lousier one.
