  1. Have you hooked it up to a monitor? The RV2209 was replaced with the Robot MV99p and that manual can be found on line.

    WizKid Cameras??

Anyone have experience with the Day/night domes from Wizkid?. I believe they are a division of ExtremeCCTV. Thanks.
  3. I need to run 2 cameras and power out approximately 200'. Can I use CAT3 I have left over from a lan install to run the video and power? I will be using passive balun for the video but should I double up conductors for the 24vac?
  4. Is there any advantage to using the S-video connections to connect my Robot Multiplexer to the DVR and out of the DVR to my monitor instead of using the BNC composite connections? I thought I read somewhere that the S-video was at a higher resolution.

    StoreSafe for Rory

Auction has ended at a fairly reasonable price but in my opinion me thinks seller is shill bidding. Newbie bidder only bids on his items.
  6. Well I finally decided to buy the Sanyo and use it along with my Robot 16 channel multiplexer. DVR will not play back the video that has been recorded thru the Robot or it is not recognising the encoding/decoding from the DVR. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Sanyo DSR-m810 with multiplexer problem

Thank you. I figured it was maybe something to do with the age of my mux but your answer will save me days of trying to make it work if they are not compatable. Anyone want a DSR-M810 cheap? PM me if interested.
  8. Thinking of buying a Sanyo DSR-M810 single channel for my home. Remote viewing software is a $400 plus optional extra. Is there a generic viewer or am I getting hosed?
  9. The Pelco IR illuminators use a PAR56 lamp. If I take that lamp which costs $45 and install it in a regular light fixture will I be able to use it as an IR illuminator or is there something I am missing? I am assuming that the PAR45 is not producing visible light. Thanks
  10. I am looking for a unit to replace my VHS machine and was curious if anyone has experience with this particular unit. I can find the specs but no pricing on the net. Or I am open to suggestions for any suitable machine as I am running 16 color cameras through a Robot multiplexer to a Pelco VHS. Pricing would have to not exceed $1500. Thanks

    Bosch DVR-1A Single Channel DVR?

I would prefer to keep the mux.

    VCR Replacement

Looking for recommendations on replacing a VCR with a single channel DVR. I have a 16 channel multiplexer so I feel the recorder would be O'k as a single channel unless you would recommend replacing with a 16 channel DVR. I am trying to keep the cost down so would prefer to go single channel. Any recommendations for a machine in the $1000-$1500 range? Would also need 10 days of recording. Thanks

    VCR Replacement

I am using a Robot 16 channel and yes, I would need Lan. I am really wary of the noname DVRs I see out there so would prefer a "brand" name. Sanyo, Panasonic, Sony etc.

    Color with IR illuminator.

Will a color camera "see" at night with an IR illuminator?

    Tamron lens help

I just purchased a Tamron 13VG308ASIR 1/3 3-8mm F1.0 lens for use on a Sanyo VCC-4324 day/night camera. The lens includes a filter and spacer that is refered to on a small piece of paper as a "B/W aberration compensation filter". There is no explanation on any of the documents as to what the heck this is used for on the camera. Do I need to include this on the camera if it is day/night? Without it the video looks fine.

    Ikegami 4 channel DVR

Anyone know if there is a single channel available at the same price or can I run the 16 channel out from a multilplexer into just one of this units channels and still have the same storage capacity?. Sorry if this is a dumb question but this unit is cheaper than the single channels. Thanks

    WizKid Cameras??

Thanks for the info. There was one on Ebay and I wanted one for testing. Guess I'll not bother. Also did not have much success with the Silent Witness day/night IR cameras. Exactly the same problem with the LED's reflecting back into the camera. Going to try just IR illuminators and seperate cameras.

    Camera Resolution

Just curious as to why a Sony camera with 330 lines of resolution would have better focus versus an Ikegami with 470 lines of resolution using the identical lens? Seams a waste to buy a $400 Ikegami if the $140 Sony outperforms on clarity.

    Camera Resolution

Well here is the latest. I have tried everyones suggestions and reprogrammed the camera with every one of the different options and the results are the same. The camera is not seeing clearly and in the early morning the video is extremely dark. Further into the day as the sun moves higher in the sky the picture lightens up and is pretty good. As the sun drops the picture goes dark again. When the street lights come on the picture is useable but not the greatest. I really do not want to spend any more time on the cameras. BTW, both cameras do exactly the same thing. Will be on Ebay for sale next week.

    Camera Resolution

The cameras are a Sony SSC-DC193, 1/3" sensor, 330 lines and 0.6Lux @ F1.2 and Ikegami ICD-870, 1/3", 480 lines and 0.08 lux @ F1.4. I have an outdoor housing that is pointed down my street. My neighbor parks his van about 100 meters away from me and with the Sony I can clearly read the address and phone number on the side of his van. With the Ikegami the image is fuzzy and out of focus. Both cameras have been tested using the same lens. Unless the Ikegami has some wierd settings that I am not aware of then the Sony is clearly the better camera. The Ikegami instructions are not the greatest and the bad translation could be my problem but I have set the camera up on almost everyone of the settings and still have the same problem. The cameras also have been back focused.

    4 Pin Lens connectors

Anyone know a source for the regular 4 pin auto-iris lens connectors WITH the pigtail cable. I can find the plugs by themselves but I need the plug with the wire already soldered to the plug. Thanks

    Lens converter

Looking for a wholesale source for the video to dc lens converter. Pelco has one but they retail for about $21.00 US. Thanks

    Lens converter

I have some older Sony cameras that only support a video lens. As these were expensive cameras I would like to use them and I have load of DC varifocal lens but only fixed iris video lens.

    Back Focus Instructions

Is there a better source for the instructions on how to back focus an auto iris/varifocal lens other than the quick instructions that come with the lens? Not sure if I am doing it right or maybe I do not quite understand the idea behind backfocus. It is my uderstanding that backfocus is to provide in focus images throughout the focal range of the lens. I seem to be able to get only good focus at near or far and not through the whole range of the lens. BTW, the lens is a Computar on a Panasonic camera. Range of the lens is 6.5-39mm. Thanks
