The new Pillar procedure appears to be a promising one. It beats using a CPAP machine and all the pain in the butt of using one. Are you doing some type of cutting edge research on Sleep Apnea? What is the goal? As far as thermal imaging cameras there are many types. I don’t know have any experience with using them, but I have read up on them. There is some information in the forum regarding thermals. Do a search and see what you come up with. I know there was someone that seemed pretty knowledgeable in that area.

Yeah I have been testing Microsoft anti spyware since they bought that company. It works well and it is free. The only issue I have with it is Microsoft will allow changes to your registry automatically without asking permission. Other time it will give you the option. Plus I think Microsoft is spying on you with that program. I personally always keep an eye on my processes running and always have documented what each one does. That way when a new one shows up I do a quick Google search to find out if it is harmless or a threat of some kind.

He is getting internet connectivity going out from the server. Server is unable to be accessed from LAN or internet. If this is correct it sounds like some type of router, cable or port problem?
-
I would think the server would be pretty safe behind a hardware firewall. You could go to the website shields up and check to see what ports are showing up as open, closed or stealthed. It could be a damaged file that is causing the problem. It might be worth applying a software upgrade and see if that eliminates the problem. Once you get it working you might want to put Acronis True Image on it and Image the partition with the OS and Geo on it. Then if you have any further problems up the road you can always return the system to a known operating state. Then if returning the software to a period when it did work doesn’t solve your problem you know it isn’t related to any software. I use Norton Anti-Virus and after it updated itself some time ago I am unable to disable it without a constant annoying message coming up on the screen telling me I am unprotected. I would prevent any of the components from even loading once you have run a scan for viruses. If you use Norton? I don’t think it is a virus problem though. If you figure it out let us know, curious.

watchdog is shotting down geovision, how can I disable that?
Jasper replied to mysticav's topic in Geovision
For setting up the software Auto Boot Feature go into configure and then it is the 3rd item down; Auto Boot Setup. I have been using ver 7.02 & 7.04. I only mention this because I kept looking for this feature in the main configuration screen with the camera setup, etc. -
Geovision 1240 DSP Not Working Properly
Jasper replied to Automated Surveillance's topic in Geovision
You might want to check out these threads I remembered about recently. I am sure there is much more information out there. http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=2345 Dual Processor thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3375 CPU usage thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=3127 Video Cards If you want opinions on all the components that make up the system in one thread, maybe a new thread might be appropriate. -
WZ15-ZN is actually a Color/BW camera. The original poster posted the model number of the BW on accident.
-
Is that the right model number for the cameras? I did a search on that number and didn't come up with anything. I am on pelco's web site and I don't see that model jumping out at me anywhere?

I agree the chipset isn’t as good as Exview, but it is half the cost. Software IR filter? I see it is IR sensitive, but I don’t see anything about an IR filter. Where did you get that information? Post a link if you have one. As far as the IR Halo some cameras are worse than others. This one wasn’t too bad. I would rather have external IR illumination to prevent the Halo, but if you’re budget doesn’t permit it then this cameras IR is better than no IR.

Congratulations on the new member of the family.

I just cut the end off an RCA cable the other night when I created a spot monitor cable. So I can use this end and splice it into the telco wire. It won’t be pretty, but it will work. And they will be happy they don’t have to buy a base station. Thanks for the info Rory. I appreciated it.
-
That’s good I have about 500 feet of that stuff in my garage. So the ground for the 12volts is shared with the ground for the RCA cable? Is there an RCA adapter available or do you have to make your own cable?
-
Thanks. I just have to lookup the Westpenn 452 wire it mentions in the specs and see if that is all I need to hook it up to my Geo Card.

I forgot to mention it will be indoors. This one has a further pick up range which is nice. What is that supposed to look like? In case anybody asks me. It definitely is an eye catcher being that large. On that model A, can someone easily remove that black cover and discover what it is? It is an 8 foot ceiling so it can be reached by someone fairly tall. Is there pre-made cable for these things to provide power and connect them to RCA female jack?
-
I am looking into purchasing a Crown PZM-10LL microphone for a covert microphone placement. Looking to pickup sound within a 5-10 foot radius. Hoping the Geovison Software will allow me some flexibility in the adjustment of it. I see that this microphone uses a XLR cable. Is this type cable available in a length of 50 feet? Are there XLR cables that have female RCA connectors at the end of them? Need those cables to be terminated with a male RCA so I can insert them into my Female RCA connector leading to my dongle. How would I provide power to the microphone? Is there another cable for power? What kind of power supply would I need to buy? Would a standard 500ma work? As you can see I don’t have experience with an XLR cable yet. I was looking at the Louroe microphones, but I didn’t see anything I thought I could hide or that didn’t look like a microphone. [/b]

Talk about a big drop in price. Congratulations that will take the strain off the old pocket book. I wish that would happen here. Drops in price like that never happen here. I believe there is price fixing going on between the companies here.

DiSS Netmaster DigaNet - SungJin?
Jasper replied to G22's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Even if I wanted that unit I wouldn't buy it from that person. This is the last negative feedback the seller had recently " I just got ripped off. Took 30 days to get item, was DOA, Seller non-respondent. " No thank you. -
Kodicom Backup Files -> Viewable Video?
Jasper replied to cdowning's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
You might want to try VLC a media player with a lot of advanced features as well http://www.videolan.org/ It will play the file if the .dat file has video in it and you have the codec installed on your computer that will enable it to play. Another thing I like about VLC is that it will play files that are open and currently being writing to. Also it will play incomplete video files. Most media players won’t. Check it out. It is something you can try quickly and if it doesn’t work you still have one of the best media players available for free. -
there appear some pixels in the picture
Jasper replied to catherine's topic in General Digital Discussion
You can register with http://www.imageshack.us/ They provide this service at no charge and will host the images indefinitely according to their policy. You just can use the service for hosting images as long as they are not used for financial gain, basically. Once you upload an image and get a path to the image, you can insert it into your post and the image will be retrieved off their server for display in the forum. Hope this helps. -
Sanyo VCC-5774M 1/3'' High Resolution Color ''CUBE'' Camera
Jasper replied to Jasper's topic in Security Cameras
Aren’t they putting that camera in a dome though? In the casino they keep their light constant and this camera works for them. Without an auto-iris it has more limited applications. I wish I had a gaming table to put that camera over, especially if it was mine. I really like Sanyo’s VDC-D1184VA dome camera. It is a lot more money, but it is a great camera. -
I have a Geo running here right in front of me, but I don't see an option to disable the snapshot function. Scott knows this stuff a lot better than I do so maybe he can find where it can be turned off.

I hooked up a small 13â€

How far can you drive in each direction before you hit water? I guess it doesn't matter that much if your stuck idling in traffic though.

If it gets below 2.00 that would be great. I think the days of 1.29 are over, but I hope not. Your cheaper than CA, we have gas tax on top of our prices though, which makes quite a diference.
