If you are saying to run "PassUnInStall.exe" in the main GV800 folder then I have tried that. I get an error message that says, "not enough privilages". I guess I didn't check the box to allow this when I installed the first time. If you have another program that will do the trick I'd love to try it.

I sent you a PM with my email address.

    Thanks!

One of the things the Geo tech people recommended was the PassUnInStall.exe file, but it didn't work for us either...

No I did not check the 'Allow Removal of P/W System'.

The user manual now says I need to reinstall WINDOWS!

Do I have to??? Or can I get by with a Geo reinstall???

When it happed to us, we uninstalled & reinstalled Geo like 10X and nothing worked. We eventually had to format and reinstall win then reinstall Geo...

  3. Rory - please read whole post history. The problem is to install geo software on disk D: in such a way - which does not require any writes on C HDD (where also WIN folder is located).
Are you trying to install the OS on some other media then a HD?

Why is no write to C: so important?

  4. Make sure it's Geovision stuff you're repointing in the registry. If you do that to a windows key you can cause some serious issues.
Oops, yeah that's what I meant. I was talking about scanning the registry for the Geo drivers/files you mentioned were installed in C:/Win.

Definately backup the registry before doing anything!

  5. You should also consider Montion Detection and FPS Priority features that most good cards like the Geo have when deciding what frame rate you need.

Most of the systems we do are set with motion detection. So on the 8 cam system, if only 4 are active at any point in time, you have 2X FPS to spread around to the other 4.

FPS Priority is good to 'guarantee' a certain FPS to the most important cams, and the rest can split whats left over.

  6. AGC let's u adjust the gain for each camera within the software and can really help with lighting issues. Especially w/ cameras that aren't full featured and don't have a gain control of their own - like bullets & covert stuff.

In the Geo software the ACG option is grayed out on the combo cards...

  7. I almost hate to bring this up but we have a couple of installs coming up in the next three months and I would like to have them all on the same ver. Is it real? I can put some of this off until Mar but I would like to have everything the same. Happy New Year
Unless there are specific features you are waiting for in 7.1, I would go w. 7.04/7.05 and wait till 7.1 is bug free (Beta testing aside). But by then 7.2 will be just around the corner...

  8. We have tested all of the features. They work great.

One example, we hooked up a panic button to a IO and are able to have certain cameras record and ptz's moved to specific postions based on the button being pressed and unpressed.

Can you suggest a relay that will work with the GV-IO?

And BTW: We've satarting buying some GEO cards from Sal & Digital Watch Guard and couldn't be happier. Solid Company. Anyone considering, I'm happy to be a reference!

    Thanks!
