  1. Hi Folks, I purchased this PT cam about 8 months ago just to cover 1 small room. I am a installer of CCTV Systems. I know this is just a cheap Pan/Tilt Cam, but it fit the bill for the application. Night Owl States that is is designed to work with there DVR. How ever it will work with most any DVR or PTZ Controller as per the typical protocol. When I installed this cam, in the box came a little card that had controller codes for use with a PTZ Controller Joystick. I have lost that card with the codes on it. Night Owl support states there is no such card that they provide with this cam and also stated that it is just a basic pan tilt camera with out any other functions, but they are wrong. In fact the cam has 4 tours and 16 presets per tour. Night Owl does not even make this cam and there support sucks! My problem is that there is a data glitch between tours and I need to do a factory reset to clear all existing tours and presets. I am sure someone on this forum has installed or sold this cam and know what I am talking about. If anyone has a copy of that little controller code card, please help me out as I have exhausted myself trying to find it on the net. Thanks, TI in Miami... Surveillance Solutions Co.

Once re flipping the dip switches for this cam, It worked well for one week. Now going back for warranty work. I have faith in this cam as it gives what it says. However, I was happy with it's performance. It's 500 TV lines of res was good!. Very fast pan and tilt. Zoom and auto focus worked well. Though the cam has no In-fared LED's, It's Night vision is superb! Mounted on a 30' Mast, I was seeing things that I never knew were there. Hopefully, They can replace or fix it. I will write another string on this when it is back and fixed. I will not give up on this cam just yet as it was what satisfied my setup. Will Post Later. got input on this subject? drx.

Channel Visions 6153 PTZ Dome Camera

Dear Channel Vision Support Team, I have just purchased and received your product, The 6153 PTZ Dome Camera. Purchase Date 09/14/2009. It was purchased from beachaudio. right there in your state of Cali. With all new products I buy, I always test them first before install. When I tested this 6153 cam, I found that it will not stop in it's startup mode. It tends to keep restarting this mode and then go's into some type of tour setting. It just loops this tour indefinitely. My question is, Is this normal right out of the box? Or should it settle down after start up. After further looking into this issue, I noticed a error on the cable interface box circuit board. (RS 485 Input) See attached jpg. Even though I tested the circuit and plug by reversing the polarity, The cam still will not go out of this tour mode. My Current System And Controller DVR: Lorex L208 with PTZ Pelco D Protocol Camera Feature @ 2400baud Cam ID # 1 Camera dip switch settings. 2400baud Pelco D Protocol # 3 On. Camera ID Set To 1 on. DVR PTZ Settings: Pelco D @ 2400baud Cam ID set to 1. No parity, 8 bit, 1 stop bit. (The Normal Pelco D Protocol). After exausting all steps to repair this problem, Do I have a defective product? I would like a response quickly as this was a birthday gift to me. I paid out $600.00. I am sad that it don't work. I even checked it out on your controller that my neighbor has. It still does the same thing as above.
  5. Does anyone know anything about this camera? I tried getting reviews on it, but little is known. It is pretty new on the market. I purchased for about $600.00. I have a Lorex L208 series DVR with Pelco D PTZ compatibility. The camera comes right out of the box all ready to just plug in. It is the standard RS485 connection. Very simple! It uses the standard 2400 baud rate and the cam ID has been set. All dip switches within the camera exactly match my system. However as soon as you power up the camera, It just seems to be stuck in some tour mode and will not settle and be ready for incoming commands. I am wondering why, even with the RS 485 disconnected that it will still not come out of that tour mode. If anyone can help, please respond. If you need to know more about the camera, just google it. as per the title of this thread. Any help would be grateful. Thanks,, Dr X..
