Hi! You should get an RS232 to RS485 converter. That will have 2 leads that you'll need to send to the receiver leads on the camera. The tx/rx is transmit/receive. You should be able to send commands to that com port through hyperterminal, but I don't know much about that. Do you currently have any software that will control that PTZ?

Ok, so it sounds like the DVR software is causing a system error that crashes the DVR. I suppose it's possible that some error occurs after multiple clients connect and disconnect. I would definitely contact the manufacturer if you can.

It kind of depends on how far you need to see. If you're just watching a room, with the right low-light camera, you won't need IR's. But, if you need to see 150ft then IR is the way to go.

I would check the RAM or the power supply of the machine. It sounds like a hardware issue.

It possibly or probably doesn't support iPhone yet. What is the model # of your DVR?
