  1. Thank you guys for your suggestions. I decided to go with Axis P3346-VE and P3367-VE, since my client has money i decided to give them cadilac. The biggest pluses in Axis cameras is that it does not require to run extra power cable for heaters, it has low illumination at 0.5 lux, and the image quality is outstanding, plus 3 year warranty, great support in Canada. Good point bySS360. Due to the low camera illumination i do not think i will add Illuminator, rather ask electrion to install more lightning, which should be enough for the cameras to capture decent images. For the next project i will try the Samsung cameras, seems decent. I had a chance to install few Vivotek dome cameras and not really happy with the quality and IR function, especialy with 5MP, a bit fuzzy, picture quality looks better on 3MP for some reason, also cabling attachments are way to long and had problems hiding them. IR is separated by rubber tube inside the cover which is very difficult to adjust it back once the cover is open. Now i have to decide on the DVR, either 3Xlogic or Exacqvision, no other ones..
  2. Thanks for the videos. Another question, how does this illuminator gets trigered to turn on at specific time? do you set it up on the illuminator or you attached it to the camera which switches it automaticall when it gets dark?
  3. Please let me know how the results are with IR on these cameras and what is your suggestions? i am looking into getting this cameras as well. thanks
  4. Does this Illuminator works at all times or you can set the time to switch on at night? what is the model number of it and price? Also how about this Sumsung camera SNO-7080R?
  5. Hi Guys, I have a job for about 9 cameras, outdoor, no lights in the building. I need recommendation to get good quality IP with built in IR. Budget $800-900 per camera, preferably 2-3 megapixels. I was looking into Arecont, but heard bad reviews on forums, thinking about Vivotek.. any suggestions?
  6. Hi there, I need professional recommendation on reliable transmitters. I am sceptic on using such products but i have no choise and budget. I have a project to cover parking lot with 4-6 IP cameras, the distance starts from 200-2,000 ft. Looking something relieable to hold winter times as well, power can be sourced from light posts. Budget for transmitters around $200-$700 a piece. my following questions and again relieable and good quality !!!!: What brands are available (prefer in Canada)? Price expectations? Recommended transmitters based on your experience? Maybe part numbers? Some locations have trees opstical.. I really need your opinion.. Thank you in advance.

    netvisiondvr

Hi guys, I am on the same boat as you are, i am in this business for over 10 years and want to say i have been using a lot of different dvrs like Avermedia, Geovision but none of them perform even close compare to Netvision, it is the best so far in my opinion, seriously, i was really surprised when i started using it. It is a superb quality at live or recorded video of 720x400, 30 fps, the usage of the software is well designed and easy to use. I switched all of my customers to it and now all my problems are gone. No more Avermedia bugs, poor design and quality of Geovision, all this nightmare. There is only one problem that i am struggling right now is that when you save the video even though its mpeg4, you can't play it right away with Windows media player, you have to install a codec first or you have to convert to to avi or wmv, which is pain in a butt for my clients. Overall it is very good product. They do use HIK vision cards which i always been using and i know i can trust it, very good performance. Just try it and trust me you will not be dissapointed.

Please HELP!!! Avermedia 5000 2 cards issue

It works with 7.3 version ONLY, what a nightmare. Took me long time to figure that out. The live video is smooth now, but i still have problems with recordings.
  9. Hello, I would like to be honest with you and want to say a few things I've experienced with Avermedia cards. My review is based on the product quality and design. First of all, my background is CCTV technician and in this field trust me, you learn a lot of things when it comes to video surveillance aspects. Currently i am doing research and trying to find a good video surveillance DVR system, and what i mean by that is: branded, reliable, user friendly, with good video streaming quality, recording, and of course with warranty and technical support. My projects are from big to small meaning could be from 8 to 24 cameras. I came across Avermedia and got really excited about the product, i even bought a card to test NV 5000 120fps and really liked it until I ran into a problem which almost cost me to loose a $20,000 project. Please read my previous post about NV5000 2 cards issue. To make a long story short i would like to point out a few things about the software application, when it comes to real testing. I will start from: INSTALLATION. (NV5000 120 fps) Windows XP There is no real description on how to do installation, the manual that comes with it just describes the software features and buttons. 1. Do not install drivers right away, there is a bug in the driver files itself, it would look like you installed everything, but then it uninstalls itself and keeps asking to install drivers again and again. Try to install the program from running the software first, but be careful, the drivers sometimes are missing from the cd for specific cards, just like NV 5000. So the best thing to download them from the Avermedia website. FEATURES 2. Overall not bad, just the stupid “password confirmationâ€

  11. Hello, i have a big project coming up and everything is ready to go, but i seem to have a problem right now and stuck without solution. Please help me to solve it guys. I am using NV5000 120 fps card. (version 7.7, latest) When i install 1 card, everything is working fine without any issues, i checked it in and out. When i install a second card to have 8 channels, my live videos become choppy and slow, i don't know what the issue is. Also i am not able to set recordings for 30 fps and 720x480 resolution, only 15 fps is available no matter what the format is. Please help me to solve this issue, i dont know what is causing it to work slow with 2 card, 8 channels 240 fps. My computer is a Quad core processor, 2 gb ram, 1 gb ati ddr2. Thank you guys
