  1. Hi All, I have an Analog camera that I want to transmit wirelessly about 300 yds. Line of sight. Any recommendations??? It will be a Spectra IV PTZ, so I need the contol functions as well. Cost is no problem. I need a reliable shot and reliable equipment. Thanks in advance.

    Verint Encoders

Sounds to me like a network problem I was having with some IP cameras....The network was clogged, and the cameras would write to their buffer while waiting to send. If the buffer got full, they would simply shut down and clear the buffer. so I saw 2 min gaps... Ive used the Verint 16s with Genetec ansd had very little problems with them. You say you tested the HDD's What type of drives are you running. Did you check the disk Input/output per second figures (IOPS). 5 16 channel verints running to one storage server would be alot....If your running only one server, and using SATA drives...I'd look there.

400 Yard shots - Enginering for vibration control

I'm pretty much hooked on moving an existing Camera. Not sure what it is, It's in a big Pelco enclosure, so I am goind to assume its a Pelco camera. There are PTZ's to move as well. They are not domes, so I will assume they are esprit's. Thanks all, I'll look into cameras with anti-vibration technology if it is an available option.
  4. Anyone who has put a camera with a 50mm lens up and has had to shoot long shots is most likely aware that the vibration effect at the camera has huge implications on the shot. I need to guarantee this does not happen. I am using analog cameras (as per client), and have multiple shots from buildings that range from 60 -100ft tall, and am shooting doorways 400 yards away. Any ideas? Wind is a factor on the housing. May be the main source of vibration. Budget is good, and custom built camera fastening systems are expected, but not necessary.
