  1. my ip is still : http://84.92.166.98:5550 Figured out the grey password box. When you login via the web browser as an admin there is Setup > IE Password Enable when you set it to ON it takes effect. Looks like you cannot do this via the PVR menu. Anyhow so many issues with remotely accessing this PVR, am going to take it back as access from the internet does not work as advertised. Issues: 1) Cannot login via the internet when I can login via the local LAN with same password used - I can connect to the box but will not login 2) Only supports the IE browser as it is an Active X control. 3) When logging in using IE (on LAN) all the monitors screens are grey so there are some issues with either the CODEC on my machine or on IE security on VISTA. The cameras supplied with the box are good, recording works fine, PVR box is a little noisy but ok. But I bought it for remote access monitoring via the net and it doesn't do it. Any last suggestions? Thanks for all help. Alastair
  2. Based in London, ISP is Plus.net, static IP address. port 5550 is being routed to this PVR box port 80 gets routed to my webserver so needs to be open Just checked the settings again and IP is still assigned correctly [192.168.1.21] (Internal LAN IP address). The password for user (123456) and admin are set. I check the box 'Network PW Clean' then click 'Apply' PVR says 'Saving parameters' and then 'Success!' I click the 'Sure' button then 'Exit', 'Exit'/ When I connect via IE version8 to http://192.168.1.21:5550 the password box is greyed out, I just click the 'Login' button and lets me in. When I connect via IE version8 to http://84.92.166.98:5550 (the public static IP) the password box is greyed out, I just click the 'Login' button and it says "Login Failed!".
  3. Just found another option in the Password section of the basic setup options. There is a checkbox labelled 'Network PW Clean' just clicked that and applied, the manual says that it will initialise the IE browser password. So should be 123456 or if the password box is greyed out it is not set? have rebooted the box and password is greyed out so not sure if it has applied it?
  4. Hi, must have different manual. The Password is set using the main menu > Basic > Password. There are 2 options, one password for Admin and one for User, So i have reset the user one to '123456' for the purposes of this test
  5. Thats the main problem, it won't logon via the internet... I think it tells you when there are too many people logged on... Will change password once I can get fixed though.
  6. yes it logs on with port 5550 Can you see the cameras then?... or just you got to the login screen? password is 1234
  7. or just go via : http://84.92.166.98:5550 or http://84.92.166.98:8080 did you manage to login?
  8. ok changed the port to 5550 can connect and bring up logon screen, but password of 1234 doesn't work. "Login Failed" on http://www.lais.co.uk:5550 even though when i can login via lan on http://192.168.1.21:5550 using same password it logs in. ISP is plus.net
  9. Hi, Can logon via the LAN not just the internet so password is correct. But no images. It's just for remote monitoring so should fit the bill if it does what it says it should so. Any suggestions on alternative PVRs though? Thanks, Alastair
  10. Hi, I bought this DVR with 2 cameras from Maplins and having problems accessing and viewing the CCTV via the internet. 250GB 4 Channel H.264 Network DVR with 2 x CCD Security Cameras http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=350932 The DVR is connected to the LAN. I have a Draytek router which port forwards an traffic on my domain internet address http://www.lais.co.uk on port 8080 to the IP address assigned to the router on my LAN 192.168.1.21 The problems I have are as follows. 1. When I login from my LAN I can login to the DVR using the specified password. Access the settings on the PVR but all the windows which should display CCTV are grey. No images. If I look via the VGA output I can see the cameras are connected and working fine. 2. I cannot login via the internet on http://www.lais.co.uk:8080 I get login failure even though the password has worked when I connect using http://192.168.1.21:8080 Anyhow you can try it and let me know if it works. URL is : http://www.lais.co.uk:8080 Password is 1234 Am at the point of taking the DVR back as it needs to be easier to configure. And also it only would ever support acecss via Internet Explorer anyhow. Any ideas? Suggestions? Many Thanks, Alastair.
