  1. Hello, I am trying to set up an AV8185DN. Using the AV100 and the web browser config I cannot get the camera to keep the IP Address I am giving it. It takes and saves the default gateway but it will not accept the IP address. It keeps giving it a 192.168.xx address regardless of how I try to change it. I have DHCP unchecked. The other odd thing is whatever password I give it , it always comes out "wrong" and I would restore the camera back to factory default. SO I leave it blank. What the heck? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  2. A noob here that has basically worked with just AXIS cameras and no need to add a manual lens. Just plug in basically. Have my hands on a couple of Areconts. An Av5105 and an AV 3135. They gave me MPl4-10 (4.4mm-10mm) lenses. But what I can't figure out is when I add the lenses, they are super blurry despite how much I fiddle with the focus, iris, zoom. I feel so humbled. Would someone please be so kind to point me the right way? Thanks in advance.
  3. Soundy. Thank you so much. I will check on that tomorrow when I get back in the office. "You could check to see if those cameras have a backfocus adjustment (lets you adjust the position of the sensor)." May I please ask how do you find/know if it has a backfocus adjuster? Again my sincere thanks. Wirefox
  4. Hello, trying to learn more about Infrared Illuminators per se. We have some AXIS cameras and are also looking into getting an Arecont AV3110. How do you find the correct illuminator for "night vision" for a specific camera? When I researched around, I did not see specs that say Illuminator "compatible with model "X". Specifically, I know we would like to get a illuminator for an AXIS Q1755 and one for an Arecont AV3110. How do you find one for either? I googled all over , checked out Arecont's site but no clues for how to attain the right Infrared Illuminator. Or whether it should be a housing solution or stand alone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  5. ilk and cglaeser(Christopher) my sincere gratitude for sharing your experience. It is of great help to me. Thank you! Since the camera I am opting for, the AV3110DN, is a dome camera and doesn't seem to come with an IR illuminator, I suppose I will have to opt for a bullet IR of sorts.
  6. OK, I've been doing my research and understand what you mean by IR 850 , D'oh and I thought it was a model or make. Well we all start out noobed I suppose. Question please. What would be the best sort of IR for a dome camera? A bullet, cube ( may be overkill for the area specified and doesn't work for the low budget or a dome IR. I suppose a dome IR for a dome camera would be odd? Specifically I am looking for a IR to work with an Arecont AV3110DN. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  7. That's awesome . Do you know if it is Q3 or Q4?
  8. Looks quite promising and hoping to demo one in the near future. Sounds as if it would certainly be of benefit to the company. Has anyone here have had experience with it? Any feedback would be appreciated. I have basically used AXIS cameras however they do not have anything comparable to the AV8185 nor any other product with 180 which meets our specs for H264 compression and high res.
  9. Cheers mate. Really appreciate it. Forgive my noobness, An IR 850 , may I ask who manufactures that, so I can look up the specs and prices?
  10. Thanks Harrar, I was wondering why comparable AXIS cameras cost more and I suppose that is because the lens is already included.
  11. Forgive my noobness, but have basically worked with just AXIS cameras. I was looking into a AV3110 and saw that I had to buy the lens separately. I did not experience that with AXIS cameras and just thought a basic lens came with a camera purchase and that it was just an option to buy a better one if one preferred. So is that just an Arecont thing where you have to buy the lens separately or is that a standard in general for camera purchases?
  12. Thanks to all. Robert: I don't have to buy extra lenses for this camera do I? The camera runs around $1700 total? Do you know if there is a wall mount of any sort or is just a drop down?

    Cheers mates

New to the forum, a bit "damp behind the ears" with the CC and grateful for your input.
  14. Thank you Wireguys. I appreciate the link and have checked out their site but as a noob to the subject, the reply of a link alone to me seemed quite broad if not cryptic.
