    Viewing Dvr remotely error

so, remote access works in LAN(192.168.x.x) and failed when accessing from internet(x.x.x.x)? you might wanna try disabling IE's security protection and see how it goes.
  2. better? but not much. it's about cmos sensor. it always struggles in low lux. it's better to stick with 3511 if night vision matters.
  3. running a IPcam on phone-line provided power is not possible. and for a Stardot system, get ready to add a 0 in your budget.
  4. you need to convert the backup videos to avi or mpg files for the post processing. most dvrs should come with a video converter program. moreover, it could turn your pc cam into a single channel dvr with motion detection, and its free.
  5. Port Forward and ddns has nothing to do with email notification setup. setting smtp is like setting your PC's outlook or ol express; it's client side only. PF and ddns are for server setup, which according to terminator was correctly done.
  6. There is one utility you can try. Here is the link, http://www.safeware.ca/support.php Just grab the SafeMotion utility. It's a console mode program and works on AVI and MPG files with MJPEG, MPEG4 and H.264 encoded video clips. Hope it helps!
  7. I'm not sure if that is the case on AVC751, but their old firmware seem to have ignored the implementation of SMTP port and encryption format(TLS/SSL), which is required by gmail. So you might will need to check whether the SMTP port and encryption could be set correctly. You need to set it, quit the setup, and re-enter setup to see if the values are still there. gmail smtp port is 587 with TLS encryption.

    Ubuntu 10.4 help

Still fumbling with Ubuntu? 10.04 has just given me a black screen during a simple operation. it's not quite stable yet. VIA card uses its own graphic chip, and that could be a headache for a fancy open-source monster like Ubuntu. Mutually, they'll treat each other with lower priority for sure. Personally, I'll go with ATI or NVIDIA when playing with Ubuntu. it could be a time saver.

    Teamviewer and Ubuntu

another easier but less secured approach is to set it to auto-login, Activating autologin 1. Load the Gnome Administration utility by clicking on System -> Administration -> Login Window 2. Change to the Security tab. 3. Enable the checkbox for Enable Automatic Login 4. Select your user account from the drop-down list of users.
