  1. yes a video capture card is the way to go but already tried the USB ones and can't get the video and audio to sync, but thanks
  2. I have a analog system at a business I own. The cameras go to a Pelco VS5104 switcher and Advanced Technologies Quadra Split 421SS and then VCRs, a bit ancient but does the job. JustinTV and a few others offer free streaming video, seems basically a web cam service. I would like to set up an account with Justintv and send out the video and audio from the switchers, all BNC connectors. I have the computer and dsl but need some kind of card and software in the computer to take the analog audio and video and send it to JustinTV and I'll have a little webcam system that I and the world can view. Don't see how JustinTV can make any money doing this but as long as they are I would like to use it.Thanks

    pelco SpectraII & Geovision

I've got a GV800 7.4 working in neighborhood bar I own and someone gave me a pelco spectra II b/w PTZ camera and I would like to know if this would work with the Geo800 card and what additional hardware I need to get it up and running, thanks
  4. To answer my own question I found a nice little POS program, Lounge Manager, for a small bar for $70. Ebay item 120020371945. or website is http://www.elite-designs.biz/software/mgrhome.htm. Will work with cheap hardware. Present edition does not do text overlay with Geovision but the upgrade in October will. I just need to now find out how and if I can upgrade my present Geovision GV800 board software version 7.04 to 8.0 and make it work with Geovisions data capture box, thanks
  5. I've got a Gv800-4, software version 7.04, no dongle, running in a bar I own. I would like to add a POS system with text overlay. Any recommendations on POS software that will work with this, small bar, small budjet, no food. Will the data Geovision data V2e box work with this card and software version or will I have to upgrade the card and software? Can I upgrade this card to 8.0, it' an authentic Geo card, at least I think it is I paid authentic Geo price on ebay. Thanks
  6. Just bought a GeoGV800 and a bit confused about which video card is best. Dealer recommends a nVidia Geforce 2 MX200 32 MB but I've read on this forum that you need a card with direct x 9.0 support. Cards like the ATI 9600 or better, nVidia Geforce 4 MX400 with 64 MB, with fan, without fan,de-interlaced etc. Would appreciate comments about what is working well, thanks
  7. yes you can view multiple cameras in playback, just checked with anothe dealer picture in picture would be nice but not available on GeVision cards but spit screen will be adequate, thanks
  8. I have a cheap ebay dvr card working in a bar I own and I want to upgrade to a better card. The card I have now lets me record up to 4 cameras at a time but only replay and view 1 at a time. It's a Global Engineering Guess 203 card, not bad for the price. I have a close up camera on the register to record the sale and one that views the entire bar and would like to be able to view them at the same time on playback. I wanted to buy a GeoVision card but just talked to customer support at a dealer and they said the software will only let me view one camera at a time in playback. In the past , when I recorded to tape, I used a Advanced Technology Quatra that would allow me to view picture in picture with the two cameras, unfortunately when I use the Quatra with the dvr picture quality declines. Is there a card & software that will let me view more than one camera at a time or let me do picture in picture during playback, thanks
