  1. hello guys, Just left a client with a Keyscan setup that is getting misreads and locking people out. The reader seems ok as does the lock and cabling etc. Any ideas on what could cause this. Also how do you purge the panels, just in case it is corrupt data. Thanks

  5. I would keep the audio and video systems separate, there are systems designed specifically for education campuses that work great. Will also give you the chance to break out the costs so the project doesn't get stalled by one or the other.

    Is doing a directional bore an option, while pulling through pre made fiber. I have had nothing but service issues with wireless including wind changing direction of antennas, interference and vandalism.

    When you lost power the termination may have reset to HIZ instead of 75ohm, this will lose the control. You should put the mux on a UPS

    Could use a multiplexer or matrix switch solution coupled with an alarm interface with the access control which would display the door being entered full screen on card swipe or alarm. How are the cameras being recorded?

  13. Seems it happens when the sun comes back out, causing brief condensation on the outside of the camera due to temperature difference just like sun glasses when walking outside from A/C
  14. Agree with everyone on the woman taking her own precautions, but there are more and more cases of establishments being sued for not providing adequate security and thought it might be useful to mention to potential customers.
  15. Axis have outdoor PTZ's for around that price, no POE though. I think the problem you are going to run into with POE, especially with outdoor PTZ's is the juice requirements

  17. CCTV with live monitoring and guard dispatch might have helped identify the intrusion. The award was for lack of overall security including preventing access to the unauthorized and verification.

    Don't forget to take into account the cameras and computer/peripherals as well as the DVR when doing your calculations, assuming they are all powered from the head end.

    I would recommend looking into a software NVR solution with IP or hybrid IP/Analogue. NVR software gives more configurable options than most DVR Software and it is now at the point of being cost effective especially if you already have the storage

  22. Just a thought, did this camera change from 75ohm to hi-z in programming or vice versa.
