  1. Any one know what happened here, I've always death with this store, but seems to have vanished.
  2. Dudes, clearly I've used these before, and will in the future. I've had no issues with stock ordered, always received etc. But clearly there will be bad eggs also. But knocking aliexpress or alibaba is ridiculous. What i buy from China costs me €70 , if ordered in Europe it's €280. Each to there own. Id always order 1 of anything first. Max 2 at a time.
  3. Would any one know a simple how to guide. Fed up of my IP address changing. From reading on here, setting up DNS can over come this problem. Cheers. Pip
  4. Is there one for image settings? Link please if so. Thanks Pips
  5. One 8 port with all 8poe? Reason I ask; I'll have min 8 cameras, An 8 port alone won't be enough when I need a PC connected 8 port Poe cost in Europe, €250 min for a good one. A lot more choice when going 8port (4 poe), cost €60-€80 As I'm just starting out, maybe go small, and a 8 port 4poe will do 4 cams. I'm looking at something like netgear http://www.hardwareversand.de/en/Printserver/107407/Netgear+ProSafe+8P+Gigabit+Switch+4xPoE.article
  6. Thanks, seems to be where I was going. Some sites are short coming with information, ie what power out put per Poe or total even, whether it's 1gb per per or total. . Thanks anyway, I'll keep this in mind
  7. On the camera page on milestone, set it to port 83 and then use internet port 8081 On the hikvision firmware, set the 4 ports to 5001 554 5003 5004 On your router forward ports 8081 to 8082 Make sure you have opened the ports 8081 8082 83 On your windows fire wall. You can google to see how this is done The above has worked for me Changing ports on hikv firmware may lead to researching for the camera on milestone
  8. hi all, is this normal, this is the milestone project go, without any camera connected, actually connecting the cam doesn't increase it at all. win 64 bit 8.1 i5 -4670k 3.4GHz 8gb ram and the mobile server off and stopped. just thought it running high, but I guess as long as it doesn't go way up as I connect the cam and then more cams in the future.
  9. Quick one, As I've the mobile app up and running, and for when using the web client outside the home. Is there a way to change the feed/playback quality/size to help when viewing. Obviously I don't want to lesson the image for the PC/recording. And adjusting the camera itself will only do the above. Thoughts? Is it possible? Or is it a case record at 3mp, and Max everything. But then your stuck streaming this excellent quality. Thanks Pip
  10. Bingo Change RTSP port on the Hikvision software to 554 and I have sub stream working. . ill need to do up a start up guide for the hiv and milestone. . a lot of trial and error, must people would have given up.. . but me. . I constantly say to myself, the answer is on the web. the above was takin from a hikvision technical bullentin that I found.. anyway . . im good to go... fully working now. .. just playing with images now, to find what suits certain areas. pips
  11. Brilliant buellwinkle, only thing I hadn't done is draw the area, and almost missed the stop drawing button. Works now. Thanks. Only one job left to do now, that's get sub stream working. Otherwise I won't be able to use milestone going forward Pip
  12. carried out the above smoothly on milestone, but is there anything I should look out for on the hikv firmware as its not recording.
  13. OK, pips needs to check this out. as I didn't change this.
  14. I done a test, as I can get sub stream working, I stopped the mobile server, and then actually exited it from the notification area, CPU still at 7% I'm still a little suspect of the set up given those two niggles
  15. just took note of the load on my CPU I5-4670K, 8GB ram, .. 64bit , windows 8, on high performance I was getting 30%, so I switched it to Power saver mode, and im getting 7% is this not still a lot, for milestone and 1 cam, just the server and mobile server running, I have a few items in the notification bar, Samsung magician , intel graphics, realtech sound etc. . milestone server control is whats eating it up according to task mgr.
  16. buellwinkle, are you using xprotect go? reason I ask, is I don't think its available, I get black screen on web. . but green and red sqs appear, to indicate motion/record. its like as if its blocked the image. I have gone over the settings. . changed the IP , searched and picked up the cam again. etc. .. no luck. can you also confirm, that under the Hardware device, pick a camera, camera settings summary appears, underneath properties, the open button. to the right, mine says MPEG, and I cant change this. . I was expecting to see H.264 for video format also, under the cameras and storage information, without clicking on a cam, under camera summary, I see my cam and again format MPEG, Recording settings Motion Detection. . . I would have thought the format should be H.264. maybe its fine, and is recording in H.264, but thought it weird. .and was thinking was there something stopping the sub stream.. all the hikv firmware settings are on H.264
  17. OK thanks buellwinkle, I'll try that this evening. I guess the settings on milestone must match the settings on hikvision firmware I'll have a tinker around with it Am I right in thinking that main stream/ recording should be done in h.264 and sub stream should be in mjpeg??
  18. actually cant view sub stream in milestone at all. maybe not possible on milestone go or do I have to add it like a second camera? on the hikv firmware under port settings, I have the 4 ports put to 5001 5002 5003 5004. would I need to allow some of these in the windows firewall I notice, while I have a black screen, if I move in front of camera, the motion detection green and red boxes appear in top right of the screen, just no image
  19. cool got it, dual stream, oh, but now ive lost the picture on web client, just black screen. . .. hmm
  20. ok, PC parts bought and Built, win 8.1 I bought 1 hikvision ds-2cd2032-i with English firmware I bought 1 wall plug type plug in that powers 1 cam and sends data to PC. played around the camera settings on IE 11. great little camera. changed the IP address on camera, changed the 4 ports to 5001,5002,5003,5004, even though I don't think it matters when im going using Milestone. downloaded the Milestone pack, found my camera straight away.. I have the camera working on the xprotect mgt application, I have it working on the smart client 2014, I can see it on the web client (same pc as the above) Questions Milestone Mobile/web client (from another PC outside the home) .. . having trouble here. in relation to IP and ports. first I will list my IP addresses (that I know of) to make it easier for referencing. 1, The IP address when I put IPconfig in to cmd on the PC 2, The IP address I get when I go to "whats my IP address on google. 3, The IP address for the camera itself 4, The IP address for my DSL Router Let me know if I have any missing from the above. now where to put them , in the management application, down the left side of the tree, "server access", its set to port 80, then I have internet Access ticked, but what IP address goes in there from the above list? 1,2,3,4? Internet port is 8081, Then I go to my DSL Router, (Eircom Ireland) for port forwarding. heres what I need to fill in, (if someone could help me with this please) service type select from a list www/https/ftp etc. . about 10 to pick from : External start port : External end port : IP address : Protocol TCP/UDC : Open start port : open end port : Now ive been reading on here a lot, have had great help from reading user posts, even opened the port 80 on windows 8.1. but I just cant connect. I even lowered the firewall on the router to low, and even turned it off . Im the type that will keep at this around the clock until I get it,. . the wife is even getting cheesed off with nothing done. . any guidance would be appreciated, thanks Pips
  21. guys, I got it. . . 8081 is for web client, opened up 8082 on the router and on windows, typed in 8082 on app and way she goes. . ok. . bed. . " title="Applause" /> " title="Applause" /> great site this. .. help but makes your push yourself also. . thanks for all. . ill can start tweaking camera settings next. Pip
  22. getting places, just checked can you see me.org .. and its saying my IP + 8081 is open hmmmmmmm update 2, ok I then went to the internet explorer on my mobile, typed in the external IP followed by 8081, and up pops the web client to log on. so now what. . . .
