    Ultra Speedome help

Well I went with the Drop kick on that PTZ. Cant get anything out of it anywhere now. The gaskets on the housing were in bad shape, seems one of the previous owners had taken it apart and didnt put it back together quite right. Even when I realigned the housing on the mount it still wouldnt seal. Hopefully the Silicone coating I gave it will do the trick. I acquired another dome and it fired right up. ....now its a waiting game for the next storm to see how the silicone holds up. I gave the housing a 15 minute bath with a garden hose before I put it back on the wall. The seal seems to be holding now.

    Ultra Speedome help

It's not an ulra 8, not sure which version it is, but its not an 8. I did know about the test buttons and everything indicated that it would work. That does explain why when I pulled one of my newer domes, which are 8's, and put it in the housing why that didnt work. I now suspect the problem was initally due because I originally tried wiring it in on sensornet. All of my other PTZs are on 422, but the dome was already wired for sensornet and I didnt have anymore room in my jbox for it anyway. The dome is now wired for 422, test buttons on the I/o board indicate it is communicating properly, but now I have the odd start up display that I mentioned. perhaps it was for the best that it didnt initially work...we've had rain the last couple days and now theres a small pool in the bottom of the dome. Tomorrow I take it down.....again......and try to seal it. I have a second older dome that I will try and put in the housing this time.
  3. I'm at a loss on whats going on here. I'm trying to install a Sensormatic Ultra Speeddome outside my store. I've installed dozens of speeddomes and have never had as much frustration as this one is giving me. I'm sure I'll laugh about how much I've spun my wheels on this once its finally done, but right now I just want to drop kick it! I have two questions that will hopefully help me sort this out. 1.) has anyone ever heard of the I/O boards not being compatible with every model speeddome? I did run into a situtation once where I could not get a speedome to work with one particular I/O board, the board worked with other domes domes, just not that one.....is that an oddity or is there a reason why that would happen? 2.)I suspected a bad I/O board since I hadnt tested it before and it was the only outdoor board I had. Soooo I removed the I/O board and wired directly to the dome with the 7pin adapter. Now it doesnt do it's self test and gives me the following message: 966 Checksum: 007f5711 Memory test: Pass FPGA Load: pass Network: Async Boot mode I reinstalled the Board in the housing after testing it in the office (with a different camera unfortunatley) but now I still get the same message. The board is wired correctly, but I cant get the dome to switch to the 422 network......I even plugged into an existing dome's I/O board and same deal. power cycled the dome and the I/O board...still nothing...... What am I doing wrong or have I some how ruined this dome??
