Which DVR for 600 TVL camera?

Hello, If you can afford it, what about the german Bosch divar 700 series XF. It's a hybrid system for analog and h.264 cams as well. It handles analog cams up to D1. Web access and control software all included. I've seen and installed this one and it's really good. (for web access through the internet you do need a good upload speed if you use hi quality on this recorder.) Greets, Electryko

    CCTV Design for Mall

Hello, I would recommend a NVR instead of a DVR system. Or you should keep the system total analog with matrixes etc. If you let the video stream from the DVRs into the network the video will be compressed a lot with most types of DVRs. This means that image quality at the view PCs will not be hi-end and the PTZ control will be slow. There are many DVR systems with software who can handle more DVRs in one screen but my experience over the years is that the system will be slow compared to a full analog system. With a full IP NVR system you also have the ability to use multicast transmission. (L3 switch) So far the best NVR system i've seen comes from a Canadian software manufacturer. Greets Electryko
  3. I don't know the DW-VMAX8 DVR but if the DVR is on a LAN and there's a proxy server or the communication goes through a firewall or router you can block IP access to the DVR by setting up a communication schedule in those devices. You could use a Firebox or Uniper firewall right at the DVR but this is a very expensive solution. Electryko

email notification on motion IP cam

I give up. I've tried my ISP and gmail as well on several ports. I get a "Primary server failed" message from the Axis209 config when i send a test mail. It just doesn't work with the camera. Instead i'll leave my recording server on for 24/7 and let the software send the mail. Electryko

email notification on motion IP cam

thanks Kevin, I set up my email account in the camera but it doesn't work. My ISP seems to block port 25 for SMTP. They are afraid for email bombs slowing down the network etc. Is there any other way?
  6. Does anybody have experience with this combination? I have a NVR system with Axis209 camera's and I want to view one camera on a large analog screen. The Bosch VIP10E decoder should do the trick however it doesn't discover the videostream from the Axis209. I've tried a direct connection as well. It's not possible to manually enter the camera IP into the decoder.

    Axis209 connected to VIP10E decoder

Thanks for your reply, It's sad that IP networks en videostreams are made by international standards but interaction between devices from different manufacturers are not.
