  1. Than why does my playback video end as soon as the motion ends? I never have seen 10 seconds of nothing once motion detection has stopped?

    Mailbox Down

My customer asked me to find out who knocked down their mailbox, so I uploaded this video and found out who did it. It's a mean old lady named Mother Nature! LOL!
  3. Why would anyone ever want that?
  4. The NVR will have a DDNS field that you will fill out and the NVR will send the new IP to the ddns server if your modem changes. When you view your NVR remotely, you enter the ddns server info, not the IP of your modem.
  5. OK, this is weird. Do you get to this screen? Than click update, enter your new username and password, confirm password, than click save?
  6. Are you even going in device manager like I said? I tried to be very specific on what you have to do to make it work. In device settings, you enter the dvr's username and password and there is two areas to enter the password. The second area says confirm. That's what I mean to make sure you enter it in confirm password. I will post screen shots when I get home later.
  7. The login for the pss software has nothing to do with the log in for the dvr. You need open pss, than click on device manager, than edit your device(dvr). In your device setting, enter your new username than password and make sure you enter it in confirm. Than make sure you click save, not OK. Wait for a few seconds after you click save, than when it releases, click OK. Than goto devices on the top and try to log into your system.
  8. Silly question here, but did you change the username and password in device manager in PSS and save? PSS logs into your dvr just like anything else. It does not automatically do it just cause your using it as a monitor, rather than a recorder.
  9. Are you saying you do not get any recordings at certain times even though there is motion?

    My buddies Nova

This quick video was taken from my Dahua 2mp PTZ camera. My friend was coming home in his 67 Nova. I've been in that car and it is a monster! I do not know why youtube did not upload it as 1080 though?
  11. They are a Dahua distributor. 90 percent of their products are Dahua and they have direct contact with Dahua.
  12. Same as the others have said. Try pulling it off the wall. And I'm guessing if you turn off the camera, it would be complete darkness so that is actually a decent picture without any other source of lighting.
  13. If it was me, I would have sex with the girl and make sure my ex wife gets to watch! Call me and insult me all you want, I'm getting laid!
  14. Are you using PSS to record the cameras? Than do not shut off the PC at closing time. When you turned it back on, did you click on PSS icon? If all you see is empty boxes, than you have to click on devices and log into the DVR or NVR and drag the cameras over.

    Day/Night without IR Camera

Any camera without IR's that claim night vision will need some assistance from ambient lighting. Why are you even looking at that camera anyway? It's a fixed lens and does not have IR's but your looking for night vision?
  16. Did u use HIK camera ? DAHUA 1.3 MP BULLETS

    2mp IP ptz over wifi

So, I installed another engenius ens500 in my apt and pointed it to the garage. I set both units as WDS and entered the macs of each unit in each other. So, now they are point to point rather than AP and bridge. My signal strength is now -64db which is better than I had and the PTZ commands work flawless without a delay at all while on internal network. When on the Iphone and sub stream set as CIF, the PTZ commands are instant as well. If on a PC remotely and sub stream is set as D1, commands are instant, but if on Main Stream, there is about a 4 second delay. I was told for a 2mp PTZ, I would need roughly 8mpbs upload speed on my ISP and I only have 5mbps though.
  18. I really want to tweak my recordings to perfection and I've been playing around with these settings lately. To my belief, anti dither is the amount of seconds of motion until the dvr decides it is a motion even. For example, if I set anti dither to 5 seconds, there has to be motion for 5 continuous seconds than the recorder says this is a motion event definitely. I would like this set to like 2 seconds just in case someone in the image moves than stops right away. Pre-record to my belief is the amount of seconds the recorder actually records before the motion event. For example, if the recorder senses motion and you have pre record set to 7 seconds, when you play back, you will see 7 seconds of non motion, and than the motion event. I would like this between 4 and 8 seconds so when you play back, the event doesn't just pop onto the screen. Record Latch to my belief is the amount of seconds the record keeps recording after the motion has stopped. I would like this for about 10 seconds just so the playback doesn't just end abruptly. What does everyone else think and what do you set yours for? Let get this discussion going.
  19. Right now, it's not that zoomed in, but I can get a pretty tight shot of my truck if I want. But the more and more I think about it, I think I'm better off zoomed out slightly so I can get more information if something happens to it. But in this NVR and I checked, all other ones I have, AD can be 0-600.
  20. Yes, my nvr has 0-600 and I was concerned about my PTZ when fully zoomed in. You have a small FOV while zoomed in tight.
  21. That's definitely a good starting point for this discussion. I just don't trust a 5 second AD time in any scenerio though. If the camera is set to MD and 5 second AD, than a person or car has to be in the FOV for 5 seconds. What if the person just walks past the camera and is less than 5 seconds? I realize someone might not want or need to record someone just walking past, but I think it should be recorded. I do like the long pre record so you don't just get someone popping up in the middle of the screen and ask how did he get there? And I agree with you that a high traffic area should get constant recording. It makes a nicer playback rather than bits and pieces all day long.
