  1. Hello Everyone, Im not sure if im in right place to get advice setting up eyemax dvr to be able to view it over the internet. i been working on this unit for 3days with no success. i've tried contacting eyemax but they never got back to me. they really have a very Sh*ty tech support. anyways hopefully someone will be able to help me out. here's my situation. im helping a friend to get his dvr setup so he can view it online. his dvr is been working for about 6yrs. & now he decided to connect to network. he have dsl modem with Static IP. Linksys router is connected to the modem. then to a switch(HUB) to support 4 computer. then from that HUB another switch(HUB) connected to it to support 1 computer & the DVR. I already set the fort forwarding on the router w/c is 9091-9112 & 80 to dvr IP (192.168.1.xxx). now from Eyemax dvr i execute client software gave a server name & put in the public ip (69.34.97.xxx) then save. to test it i went to another computer same LAN network on DVR & type the IP addr of DVR to my browser it will show the login but I get a message about activeX and wont let me login. so i tried to use WAN connection & nothing either. im sure my setting is all wrong so, if someone could pls help me out or point me to the right direction i would really appreciate it. thanks alot guys zee

i wanted to say thank you to everyone on this forum & people that gave me some advised. i just wanna let you guys know that i finally got it to work! it was actually a simple fixed. it was the modem that i needed to bridge since i have Static IP. & disable firewall on the router. now i can view it through LAN & WAN w/ no problem. thanks again, Zee

    Eyemax 9000 DVR

"themerchant", thanks for your advised! by Enabling "download insigned ActiveX control" I could now see it inside LAN network. but still having problem accessing from WAN. port 80 on the router was forwaded to DVR local IP. also if i set the router to Static IP instead of auto DCHP & type in the IP, Subnet, Gateway & DNS that I got from ISP (have static ip from ISP) & save the setting. none of the computer could get online. anymore suggestion? to "tomcctv" thanks for your advised. but, how do i ugrade the firmware? I've tried using latest software also, but no go! thanks, zee
