some cats & dogs may walk thru the detection area, i plan to connect those pirs to my dvr, when they will be activated the dvr will send a signal to the alarm board and the surveillance platform will connect to the cctv system to check if there is an intruder, so i need a near 0 false alarm pir,
do you think that it is possible? i mean, if there is an alarm everynight the surveillance platform will become crazy....
-
i checked optex pirs, the opm303 seems to be the one for me
http://www.optex-europe.com/Site/downloads/OPM-3020_303(1).pdf
anyone have experience with this one?

hi,
i'm definitivly satisfied by the product so i'll keep them,
the two cams are used to identify persons on critical points of a sensible bulding, the actual position might be the final ones,
i'm using the corporation LAN, as the bandwith consumption is very low

hi,
public prices are available here:
http://www.mobotix.com/eng/file/32577/mx_cam-overview_us_200.pdf
i'm using an mx-22-m (means one lens) - secure (means that it is used for security application : recording on lan is possible) - night (means BW sensor) and an mx-12-d (means 2 lens) - secure - Dnight (means 1 color sensor and 1 BW sensor)
you can combine diffrent lens on the m12, like a zoom and a wide angle lens, some demo cams are availble here:
http://www.digitaalhekwerk.nl/Hoofdzaken/index.html
the best quote i had was a 10% discount on public price, it's quite difficult to open an account @ mobotix, if you find better prices kindly let me know
distributors can be found here:
http://www.mobotix.com/eng/partners/mobotix_partners
concerning the the file size here is the chart:
i'm using 70% quality

hello rory,
not sure i understood your question, for live view you can either go thru the camera page or use the mobotix mxviewer software, it allows to see for example the 2 cams live with the latest events, you can browse and play events with the software (with the audio channel, you can also send audio to the camra if you have a microphone)
many layout are configurable, you can monitor up to 30 cams at cif resolution:
you can also set multi view via the camera page (with different cams from your LAN)
there are many many extra features, have a quick look to mobotix website

hi,
i'm currently testing 2 mobotix cams (m22 & m12 wich is the new version of m10 with higher frame rate)
here are some pix:
those cams don't use bandwith unless there is motion detected, the storage is made on a NAS server
more info about those cams here: mobotix.com

hi,
forgot the led illuminators, i tried many of them and no one can beat a lamp, you may check my experience here:
-
hi guys,
here is the derewent UF300 info page:
http://www.derwentcctv.com/uf300.asp
check also this chart to compare illumination distances:
http://www.infrarouge.biz/images/distance_chart_big.gif
i'm using the 730nm with a 30° beam (apprx 70meters of illumination)
the system is "quite cheap" approx 1000€ for all the components
an ltc0495 : 500€
a 5-50lens : 70€
a housing : 100€
an uf300 (a demo unit with power supply) : 400€
the great thing is that the camera is 50meters far from the capture area, and daytime picture is also great:
the bads things:
*the picture i quite dark before the color/mono swich
*if the plate is non reflective, i can't see it:
*i just can see the plate, if a bad guys is enterring the parking i can't see him unless he is wearing clothes with reflective bands... (but i have 4 other cams for that)
*the bulb had a life time of 3500hours and it cost approx 60€ to replace it
-
after some months trying to achieve the best capture, i finally bought an uf300 and here is the result:
the plate is perfectly identifiable even when it's raining or snowing
the ltc0495 have a special Ir contrats function wich filter normal lighting, well i guess i'm close to the REG result
settings:
shutter: fixed @ 1/100
agc fixed @ 0db
sensup off
blc off
alc 0
alc peak/average +15
autoblack on (-20)
contour + 5
dnr off
xf dyn off
ir contrat echanced
-
yes i know that i have a big light problem, i don't want to use an ir light 'cause it's too expensive, i'd like to change my halogene spot which have a wide and not really powerfull beam with a narrow powerful light, i don't know exactly what to use
-
well this kind of camera is quite expensive and i'm not sure that it could work at long distances like in my configuration
i got a new shot, i guess it's the best one, the halogen spot didn't work due to the snow and the plate still identifiable
-
But, for low light wide surveillance the ltc0495 is good!
this was with the 0455:
and this is with the 0495:
-
well i guess i'll stop on this result:
settings are:
shutter: fixed @ 1/100 (got motion blur under)
agc fixed @ +15db (too dark under, too much noise above)
sensup off
blc off
alc +15
alc peak/average +15
color mode forced (better result)
autoblack on (+5) (better result, especially when it's snowing)
contour + 5 (increase the sharpness)
dnr off
xf dyn mid
well finally i would not recommand this camera.... the ltc 0455 gave nearly the same results for half the price
-
i tried sens up but the image is blurred
anyway let's see the result of tonight test,
have a good rest rory & thx again for your help
-
agc can be selected, if i put it off, the picture is totally dark,
i've setted this paramter to auto agc, max 20db
-
daytime picture are as good as before
