  1. Hi Group,

I'm installing my first 16 cam system. The cams I'm using are IR, color, 550 & 600 TVL cams with External Zoom & Focus Adjustable.

My question is, no matter how well I adjust them out I see what looks like ripple lines on the edge of items in the image. You will see it the best on things with straight lines as if I'm looking out through a window with a bug screen?

Sometimes it looks like a ripple effect or hash marks as things move through the image.

The other thing I see is something that looks like the image looks like it's sparkling or moving in some way. I think what I see is called "Electrical Noise". All of my cams have DNR, but none of the settings seem to make any difference in the image. It is not bad but I would not consider perfect. But like I said, this is my first system and maybe I'm expecting to much.

Thanks in advance for any help,

    The cams I'm using are KT&C , KPC-N500

  2. looking to buy a KPC-DNR700.

can any one recommend an online shop?

found one on ebay and one shop which is selling it at half the price ???

or suggest another brand of similar spec?

One thing I can tell you about eBay. "I Think" because of my luck with things I bought on eBay that many of the sellers can sell items very low because often I think the buy factory seconds that have something wrong with them. Not not everything is like that and you can buy good stuff on eBay. I'm just saying some of the stuff is like that. I bought a fiber scope that will let you look into walls at one time. I discovered all of the images were backwards to the way they should be. I'm guessing whatever factor built this product built many of them before the knew about the mistake in manufacturing procedures. Well they do not fix them or do they through them in the trash. They sell them in large lots to people at 1/4th the price they would normally sell them at. One day you see them on eBay in a new factory box.

  3. Hi,

I'm trying to setup a CCTV system and was wondering what type of conduit should be used to run the outdoor coaxial cables? Are galvanized steel conduit or PVC conduit used for outdoors? Anyone have a link to a site which sells the conduit which I should be using? thanks

    Hi,

From an electricians point of view I would go the electrical PVC route. Will not corrode anywhere and easy to make wether tight. Also 99% of the time I always install the size lager then I really need. Pip will be a little stronger as well as giving you room for changes you may make down the road. If you install the smallest pipe you can get away with and down the road you want to add wires you will also have to change out the pipe to a larger size.

Up-sizing your pipe from the start is easy and the difference in price is small.

  4. Hi Group. I'm very new to CCTV. I'm installing a 16 cameras system around my farm and at this time I have 8 cameras installer. The cameras I selected seem nice enough (1/3, 550tvl). And for the most part my live picture is good but it is not as nice as I think it could be. The one thing I would like to ask about is if you look close to the picture it looks as if the picture is moving or sparkling for lace of a better description.

I was reading about the DNR on the net and they were giving a still pictures as examples of what it was. I thought it looked like what I was having.
