    Speco 16ip

I installed a fiew of thoses...fairly easy to work with at the unit..as long as you know the diffrence between up and down arrows...recording is ok for the price. An expert user would prob hate it but it gets the job done. i had one issue where the hard drive get "un-detected" but took it out removed the cat hair, lundry fluff and booted back up... hope it helps.
  4. All right...you are going to meet this customer and you want to bring him up to speed with technology and cameras etc... This customer wants a system the will not need a security personal to monitor the system...ptz...etc Do you.. Tell him about everything that is available...stand alone, pc base, ip camera/software? If so, how to break it down...and tell him the pros and cons or do you? Or just go with my experience and judgement call and sujest to him one system only leaving the others? Is IP cameras much better?..if so why?..seems that every big company are pushing their ip cameras...

Which LCD PC monitor do you use?

What if...I have a standalone DVR that as no VGA out put but i use a AVLINK,game console to pc monitor adapter, RCA to VGA...will i have a good pic if i use a good lcd monitor.ViewSonic or Samsung?
  11. I understand that each DVR as its own board, hardware, and software. What do you look for in the specs to find out how fast and the quality of the picture/video would be transmitted thru a high speed internet connection. I somewhat get disapointed when i go online to some of the installations to verify on the quality of the picture. Is Ip cameras better and their software? I haven't install a PC base system yet...and i never toucht a PC with a card in it so i have no comparaison. thanks for all the help!!
  12. Just when I am thinking that I'm making head way..i get pulled right back in... I read alot of the archives forums and i run into more and more unknowed "to me" brands...i have save in my favorites so many websites from manufacturers, brands, makers its ridiculus. I might find a good Stand alone, good recording quality ,etc.. then BAM!! the remote viewing is crap... Rory, it would be great if you could download all your knowledge onto a CD and sell/post on this website. Is there a Dvr standalone that does everything like it should?...record,playback and remote viewing perfectcly not minding the price? PC base are by far faster, more options, cleaner, more for the professional system. Do you all choose that over stand alones if money is not an issue?..do they work as good remotely then Standalone?...what about online viruses?..i am pretty clueless with PC base..installed one American Dynamics, didn't have to install internet so i have not seen it remotely. Its alot easier to stick to one or two brands and sell it and know everyting about them...but right now I really don't have one specificly...Specotech, Everfocus, all the brands that you guys don't rate to good or high...oh my!...what have i done... Anyways, you can't by on-hand experience but if i can cut done the time to learn about it, more power to me and I think this website is great for that..glad i found you guys!..thanks! PS..what brand do you install in PC and Standalone?
  13. Rory, you just made my day and its close to 11pm...thanks for taking time to answer...turn the pc off and go to bed!!..
  14. Hi again, I might sound like a broken record but i thaught I found a best bang for your buck with EVERFOCUS but now I am torned apart lol...not really but I need your opinion and maybe some guidance from you all would be really appreciated... I have put in a bid for this customer, I quoted him a EVERFOCUS dvr EDSR9/160 mainly because it as a ir remote control (ir remote, this customer wants to stay on is couch) and the price. I need the 9 channel, internet, inexpensive and ir remote,... what is compatible with out the horror stories?

    Is CVC-627 a decent camera?

I installed two...day time great picture but at night depending where you are trying to view e.i. i have one shooting down between 2 building 26' tall by 50' deep and the infra red kinda gets weak at the end of the alley, of corse cuz you don't have depth perception since its so long...but the other is in a garage and brighten up the whole garage (2 cars) very good in the dark..i never used nuvico ...its your call, hope it helped
  20. Being a new business i want to leave a good impression so i don't charge for them being lazy or can't read but i gave them 2 lazy calls then I charge, 40$ just to go there then minimum of 40$ or 80$/hrs, thats what every one elses charge around here...
