  2. I actually walked in a brand new Burger King that was on the termination phase and there was all the head uncho sitting at the table and introduce my self with a little flyer, company info etc.

And he said "are you an approved vendor??...and the door got shut in me face. Since i have been trying to get in touch with HQ and gotten the run around.

    '

How do you become an approved vendor to thses corporation?

  3. The cat5 was still in a box and the camera was connected directly to bare wires and the other end was to a cut bnc patch cord to a monitor. I am sure the baluns as to filter something but until i run into one, I would never know. Maybe somebody here had any experiences good or bad.

  4. They are on the market for a reason but this is an experiment i tried lately.

I took 1000' cat5e, connected to a color camera direclty at the video wires (no bnc connector) to cat5 wires and to a monitor. i swear the pic is clearer then with a balun hooked up. I know the picture deteriorates with distance and the need for active baluns. What do you think?

I have this project i need to find a solution and need some help...

The Dvr/recording device would be in office # 1

Office # 2 could be a relay point, it as internet connectivity

Gate 1 (280' away from office 1) and gate 2 (1265' from office 1) needs cameras for incoming and outgoing traffic

for right now i am trying to figure a way to send video to the recording device located at office 1.

wireless, wireless ip cameras, NVR what you guys think?..thanks

  6. i gotta run 6 coax all in the same path in drop ceilling for 150'....

my question is, what method do you onrolled the coax from the reel...i am going to use 6 of them and pull right the coax off of them all together (6)...

do you all have a rack you put the reels on or something?

  7. sorry i meant OR instead of AND... i do like to install all of the same brand..but if a camera is so much better then the dvr brand i picked then yeah i would go for it...i'm very intrigue by COVI...cmos???

  8. After 1978 or so, buiding codes or elevator code i should say demand to have atleast two twisted pair in the elevator, one for the phone and one extra spair.

before you go in the shaft, you need to be certified and licensed to go there. Find who is the elevator company, call them and tell them what your doing. they will charge the building owner..

have them put an outlet for your camera,...hook up balun to the cam, run upstairs find the spair, hook up another twisted pair, run it down to the balun at the DVR..voila!

  9. I installed a fiew of thoses...fairly easy to work with at the unit..as long as you know the diffrence between up and down arrows...recording is ok for the price. An expert user would prob hate it but it gets the job done.

i had one issue where the hard drive get "un-detected" but took it out removed the cat hair, lundry fluff and booted back up... hope it helps.
